I was working on a bridge in eastern OK. close to the state line and found river cane / bamboo growing wild by the river. Also found some stone points. Seems we were not the only ones to use the cane shafts. Anyway I cut some and have it drying in half dozen bundles.

Also you might try Ryan Gill AKA Twistedlimbs. John

The very best are going to come from Jaap Kopedrayer at Yumi. He grows his own bamboo, especially for arrows and bows.

Oulaybamboo tonkin bamboo about $2 a shaft and free shipping. I have ordered from them 3 times. Very nice to deal with. Type in Bamboo shafts. I really like my bamboo arrows for selfbows. They seem tough and forgiving. >>>>-----> Ken

Mine came in 33 inch length and I ordered in bulk. A couple were as low as 350 grains and some were as high as 550 but those were the extremes. Most were clustered around 450ish.

I planted 3 clumps of Japonica two years ago. I don't think I will run out of arrow material. I have a concrete barrier around the bamboo, so its well behaved. Seems to me that it is the same species that Jaap sells.
