Having a hard time setting up my new recurve kit. D50 string I got(14 strand) is not tight enough on my vintag bear arrows with a "wedge" nock- not keyhole shaped. Should I ordetails a 16 strand, or can I wrap string some how to increase size??? Thanks for any help!!!

You can wrap it with unwaxed dental floss. You can heat the nocks in very hot water and squeeze them down some. I heat them and squeeze them down around the string and hold them until they cool some. You can even re serve the string with thicker serving ir wrap teflon tape around the string and serve over it.

Wrap your nocking point with some dental floss. I use a little super glue or Duco cement to hold it in place.

Or order a new string and tell the stringmaker what kind of nocks you plan to use.

What GF said...... Strings are cheap, no reason not to have one that fits perfectly. Just tell your string maker which nocks you use, and they can serve accordingly.

Remember those two letters, A.S. When you decide to buy a new string those letters are the first place to look.

Use dental floss. It's much easier, cheaper and plenty more effective to do it yourself and know exactly when the diameter is right. The string will be fine and your nocks will be custom fit. Tie it off with a whip type finish and you don't need any glue.
