Wow that's great congrats. What are the specs? What type of string do you plan on using? I'm hoping for somewhat of a review once you get some arrows tuned. A Howard bow is on my wishlist for sure.

Great find. I had one back in the day. I was amazed at how quiet is was with Jack's string and no silencers. I followed Jack's advice and added the Merrill sight, Kwikee quiver, 2114 Jet Arrows. It was a great set up.

When my first string got wear, I put on a different one. I immediately noticed the difference. Called Jack and got two of his strings.

Mine is 66" too. Mid 60's or there abouts for a birthdate. These are absolutely pure joy to shoot. Not bad to look at either when Jack was using the original woods he started with. Can't beat the vermilion stripe for looks in the riser. Nice jet black colored ebony just a great and stable build through the riser. Mine came with 2 strings to boot also. One is still in the original plastic bag. They also shoot a nice low b.h. as compared to other recurves. Reminds me of the b.h. like on Schultz bow.

Not sure on the string. Just excited to get it!!

What is the poundage and serial number of the Jet on the right, Burnsie. The one on left I can read so have added it to my list os serial numbers. Just need the one on the right.

Incidently, F-931 0n my list was made in 1999 so suspect your 930 the same year.

The whole bow...they do have a low brace.

That’s not the jet and I believe that is a 64” bow. Looks great and the black material in the riser is some sort of plastic jack mixed up.

Hi Todd..thanks...I knew it was not the Jet...it is the last series of the original Gamemaster design...they were all 66".

This one had the metal rod in the riser.

Jack Howard's bows are still at the forefront of conventional recurve design. There are no better bows on the planet.

They sure look a lot like Howatt risers.

Risers maybe similar but limbs are significantly different in profile and tapers used

The Jet was almost a semi static limb. He told me that building them to be draw length specific was import for shorter draw shooters. The other Jets in this area had developed a distinct hazing just below the recurve. These were guys with long draws. i did not know the histories of their bows, the bows did not look any different than my short draw model. Jack altered things to get the limbs to bend differently for different draw lengths. I am not sure if it was just in the lams or if he had completely different forms to make the adjustment.

I grew up nearby and had family in Grass Valley, one of the bows on my bucket list, would like 40# @ 28 for my 32" draw.

My Jet is number 938, 49#@28” 66” Labeled, “Last Edition” and signed by Jack.

I just noticed mine actually reads “X-938”. Don’t know if the X stands for anything. Here is a pic of the riser for your viewing pleasure!

I did not buy this bow from Jack but acquired it recently. It is marked 49 pounds but is actually 52 on my scale and is just a little bit too much weight for me. I reduced weight on many bows before but I will NOT touch this bow! It is in such perfect shape I really don’t want to mess with it.

The glass is not your standard Gordon fiberglass by any stretch and may not even be glass I suppose. The back looks to be clear glass with black paint on it. The belly is white through and through But looks a little bit different than regular fiberglass and looks like it might be carbon as it is thin looking. I’ll have to take a closer look at it when I am back Home in a little while.

The glass Jack normally used forever was urac/tear strip glass. In the later years he ran out of the black in stiffer spines, but he had lots of white. There are some Jets out there with white glass painted black on the back. If yours is clear looking on the sides I suspect Jack bought some clear glass from somewhere so he could make some weight for hunting bows and of course the back glass was always black on his bows.

Carbon is black by nature so doubt that is on yours.

Regarding the marked bow weight, because of the way Jack weighed his bows(he deducted mass weight of bow) all the Gamemaster Jets will actually way 3# more than marked.

Yep and yep on my white belly being glass and black/clear back glass too. Back is clear on sides and slightly thicker than white belly.

Not sure why this guy is gloating but I own F-932. Purchased from a gent in Colorado last fall.

He actually never stated it was his bow...but he had me thinking so.

i love my jet. mines a little on the heavy side but im working into it. its really an amazing bow. you can get original strings from charlie lamb still
