I want to cut the “cone” off of my 2016 legacy’s and put on uni bushings. I think the nock ends are tapered just a little. Does anyone know what size works if I cut off right in front of cone?

Lancaster Archery will be able to help. I just did some vintage Easton X7 1814's for the G nock. I don't thick the Legacy shafts have that "step down" taper in front of the swagged nock end. <')))><

I haven't done it in a long time but I believe I had to cut them behind the taper. You might find something that fits but the shaft won't be a standard size or take a 2016 insert until you get past the taper.>>>----> Ken

Yeah, I may be stuck. They are tuned at current length, so I can’t cut much off. I was hoping another size would fit small taper. I may sacrifice one and see what diameter they are, then just go from that.

Just order uni bushings for 2016s from Lancaster. I put them in all mine, and buy them from a archery range/shop a friend owns. They aren't tapered. I just cut off the cone.

I'd rather glue on a nock than mess around with those bushings and push in nocks that usually don't fit the serving on my strings.

Thanks Clydebow, that was the answer I was looking for!

The 9/32 AAE Z nocks and plastinocks are hard to beat.

I’m shooting z nocks now but am shooting indoors. I have found that if I get some arrow slap, or clip the end of an arrow, the cone style nocks get small cracks that are hard to see. Might be a hundred shots or the next shot later that it breaks and I dry fire my bow. I try hard to see the cracks, but REALLY hard to see.

Oak, maybe your Z nocks are fitting too tightly on the serving. Could be cause of your slapping reaction on release. <')))><
