Sorry it took me a bit to respond. Jeff's bows are one of the best kept secrets, no doubt. SUPER NICE quality all the way around, bowyer and person. Mountain man I really like my bow and I know Matt still thinks he has the best looking, but honestly any bow Jeff makes is hard to compare. They are all different but apparently all shoot just as good.

So im shooting Douglas Fir shafts,11/32 spined 47-50#,cut 29",average'n 375grns bare,125grn points for alittle over 500grns total and a 10.8 gpp Still playing with fletchings,,sheild, parabolic,an French curve all 5" offsets I did make up some with 4" parabolics, which fly good but im gona stick with 5" fletchings I guess my point is we ll loose some of these arrows over my Chrony brand chronograph here as soon as the snow and rain stop and we ll see what kinda number we can get I like heavyer arrows for just bout everything from target to tree rats,,but ive got some properly spined Port Oxfords in the 380grn complete arrow weight range, for 8.2gpp and even,,,hhhhhh,,,,,some of them souless light carbon things we ll throw over the Chrony and see what kinda numbers we can get ; )

From: mgerard Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

Leave Jeff alone! When will he have time to R&D other models if you keep him busy?

From: bodymanbowyer
Date: 12-Dec-17

:-) bahaha:-) You guys are definitely making me laugh. JF

From: Dry Bones
Date: 12-Dec-17

R&D??? I'm looking or the full curve....C'mon Jeff. Prototype a full working recurve OR maybe a semi recurve of the Polar type?? Better yet. DON'T do that. I would end up owning even more bows.

-Bones

From: mgerard Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 12-Dec-17

What bow on the build list will be the "prettiest" Jeff?

From: Mountain Man
Date: 12-Dec-17

Nah,,,,,curves are for women : 0 Straight and narrow!

From: Dry Bones
Date: 12-Dec-17

mgerard- the one he finally ends up keeping will be the prettiest. BUT that bow hasn't been built yet. I was once told a man would rather own an ugly horse that could run than a pretty horse that couldn't.. What if I could have both? The horse would be called a Freeman. Just like the bows. Look great and shoot better.

I got better speed with a 8gpp and 10gpp on the high end. We all know what different GPP will do. If I remember the highest I had was 172fps with a 7.5? gpp So I'm staying with the average Longbows :-) JF

From: bodymanbowyer
Date: 13-Dec-17

I've found actionboo core is not one of my favorite limbwoods for speed. My favorite is maple and Osage combination :-) JF

From: Mountain Man
Date: 13-Dec-17

Im happy with 150+fps with heavy wood(not souless carbon)those are 10.3gpp and im only drawing 27" so thats moving right along in my opinion

We ll try it again when theres not a 30mph cross wind

From: bodymanbowyer
Date: 13-Dec-17

:-) hehehe soul less carbon. You got that right. Wood Arrows definitely feel right from that Bow :-) JF

From: Dao
Date: 13-Dec-17

... I have my wood arrows ready! :)

From: Dry Bones
Date: 13-Dec-17

Those Carbon may be souless, but they take a reaping on whatever they hit when tuned correctly. Including big ol' soggy hogs. If you get a shirt made I want one as well.

-Bones

From: mgerard Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 13-Dec-17

Turquoise shirt with copper logo, like Jeff's bow brands, eh?

From: Barber
Date: 13-Dec-17

Carbons are soulless but I love my carbon Arrows. Just strait up tough .

From: Mountain Man
Date: 13-Dec-17

Shooting carbon arrows is like putting a motorcycle on a trailer

Carbons something you get when you add oxygen to steel,,and trailers are for boats ; )

I kid of course,,,but,,,,no really carbons souless

From: Barber
Date: 13-Dec-17

LOL

From: Dry Bones

No warmth in the man made materials Mountainman? I am hoping to venture into the wood realm soon.

-Bones

From: Mountain Man
Date: 13-Dec-17

Well,,,for me,,,,i like the building and tuning and tryn to understand a living(at one time)material Wood arrows are as important as wood bows, leather quivers and feather fletchings I understand carbon and it makes more sence then aluminum, and there alot less maintenance but its not the same,,,,there like a boob job ; ) They look great!!But the good lord didnt put them there
