I just wonder if anybody has had any experience with the spyder XL from southwest archery. It seems to be similar to the samick journey which i own two of,the journeys are my go too bows smooth and fast.

It's basically the same bow, made by the same company, just with a reworked riser to make it look better, and a better limb bracket that looks a lot better too.

I believe the riser on the Spyder is a little heavier. Never shot a journey. I've shot sages. Shot a Spyder. I was impressed.

Great limbs and bow, just an improved Journey. I have a cheap set of brand new limbs available in the classifieds if you're interested, save some money!

I have both the Spyder XL and the Journey.
The Spyder XL's grip is slightly thinner and lower (more vertical, less diagonal?) than the Journey's grip. I like the Spyder XL grip a bit better-but both are nice.
The Journey is discontinued. Uses the same riser as the Samick Sage.
Journey and Spyder XL are nice bows, and 64" to boot. My 30" draw appreciates that. Smooth drawing.

I have a 30 inch draw and tried the XL limbs on a sage riser. Not only was the draw smoother (than with Samick 62" limbs) but the bow was more stable and very quiet. Speed was decent as well. I really like the southwest archery XL limbs. I just bought the tigershark bow for my wife and I prefer the tigershark (same shape as spyder riser) riser much more than the sage riser due to grip shape and looks.
