I started shooting with fixed crawl this year, but still had trouble seeing the end of my arrow in low light. I tried white electrical tape an that helped, but not enough. Found some glow in the dark duck tape in hardware store and that with a white rubber band behind the broadhead helped me a lot to see me point. Hope this helps some others.

Pretty slick idea there.

That's a great idea. Didn't know they made glow in the dark duct tape.

Years back, many years back, when I was absolutely positively secondary point aiming, I painted the point end of my arrows for about two inches with fluorescent chartreuse paint. I figured since chartreuse holds its color longer in deep water it would also hold in low light shooting situations like a 1/2 hour before or after sunset. Bob Swinehart had some with blue. White or blue is harder to see on snow back drops to my eyes.

That rubber band will stop penetration right there.:^) >>-->Ken

I have just started using this, but have not seen any negative affects. Had pass through on does and no changes in poi at hunting ranges.

Don't see why the rubber band would impede penetration. That broadhead will open up a real nice hole and can't see how the band would enter into the equation. Even if the hole closes on the shaft after entering the body, the band will be long gone into the body cavity. Case closed.

Ken was making a joke guys....

I always carry a broadhead paited white in my quiver for low- light.

Sorry for the confusion guys. There was a little smiley face and yes I was kidding. PS. I have used white tape. >>>----> Ken

The glow in the dark tape will contaminate your deer meat with Radon radiation. I wouldn't use that if I were you.. :) You can get very sick with radiation poisoning.

Damn Brother how "low light" are you shooting? LOL Slick trick

Quit hunting at night. As my age increased, I found myself leaving long before I would have when my eyes were younger. If I were to shoot a deer, I no longer can see well enough to track using a flashlight. I like to give myself an hour of light for tracking and gutting.

I may try the rubber band just to see if I can see the end of the arrow better in daylight. That is a good idea.

It is duct tape. That company is doing a play on words.

If I wanted to hunt in low light I would add a stabilizer and tape a light to it. I just look at what I want go hit and let her fly.

Hi TEAM? MY CONFUSE???? Does that FLO duct tape contain something that would contaminate the meat of a critter? Please advise. Thank Yuh Very Much & Blessed BE! Batman

Lets see, the point is, maybe no more than thirty inches in front of your face and you can't see the point? Here in Connecticut you would be probably half an hour or more after legal hunting light, which stops at sunset.

Then again, maybe the issue has more to do with your vision, rather then the light available. Do you wear glasses?

If you want to add glow-on paint, coat it with a dab of your wife's clear nail polish. Two points, that is not enough radiation to make you contaminated and the nail polish will make it more durable. The latex Glow paint is not the so tough and can rub off over time without something to protect it.

Here in CT we have some not very good reactionary game laws written by politicians instead of people who know about hunting.

Just one more reason that I am not, and will never be, an aimer. Aiming is for those target folk.

From: dean

Aiming is for people that want more holes in their targets and less holes in their neighbor's garage.

Guys....

DUCT TAPE - as in that silver- colored stuff that HVAC types use to seal up leaks in an AIR DUCT.

“Duck” tape is a brand name which is a play on words/a common mispronunciation, and quite possibly an overt attempt to make people believe that they invented the stuff, like Kleenex, Hoover or (if you’re old enough ;) ) Frigidaire.

All that aside, be sure to check your state regs to see if nuclear/radiologic-tipped arrows are legal in your area.... Like the Pod, these could be considered to fall under NBC/WMD!!!

Alternatively, you could dip or wrap the front of your arrow, or if you were really handy and determined to remain strictly Trad, you could stain your shafting darker and then foot your arrow with bright white Ash or something...

Half of you guys have really good senses of humor.
