Last Sunday I was able to harvest a nice young 8 point in the swamp. Not a mature deer, but a trophy to me. First deer in 6 years, first with a longbow. On top of that I got to do it with a fellow LW member. If it wasn't for Crabwad I wouldn't have ever had the chance.

Roy Hall Navajo Scout 60"47@28. Shooting a 29.5" 2016 with a 125gr Outback single bevel broadhead. The arrow buried enough to exit tge other side, but when I was cleaning the deer. There was about 7" of the fletched end in the chest cavity.

That is awesome! Always wanted to hunt the swamp but never learned how to track in water! The rack or size of deer is not what makes it a trophy, it is the hunt and the memory of the adventure that makes it!
I got my 1st buck with a longbow this year too. It is not a massive buck but it is going on the wall!
By the way, what bow is that?

Trooper I agree. He is a heck of a hunter and an all around good dude. Lucky to have someone in the same Parish who loves traditional archery. Kind of a rare breed down here.

That's a nice buck, congrats! Nice shot you made - deadly. Does your deer have a bit of fibromas on it? Not much, but looks like its starting. My uncle got one once with that all over it. Nice trophy you got there.
