Worked out a deal with a fellow L’Waller on this 1956 Bear Kodiak. It should/could be here this Saturday...I thought I had gotten past being impatient for a “new-to- me-bow, Nope, it’s killing me *(_)*

That never goes away! I am like a little kid watching the mail and get all tipped over when it does not make it on time. It is usually worth the wait!

You have to have more patience like me. I am thoughtfully waiting to order a new Static K-4. You know I won't rush into it. Is your bow here yet. You'll let me shoot it first, right? ?? Chuck

I’m going to wait for our USPS Letter Carrier tomorrow and tell her about what I’m waiting for. Lately she’s been dropping off packages in the am and mail in the afternoon, so maybe this won’t be so painful. You don’t want to shoot mine, you like your old K4, right?

The strike plate looks like it has had only one arrow shot from it. It looks brand new.

Looks like it's going to be a nice one. Always exciting waiting for something fun. JF

I received 2 bows yesterday that were mailed Priority 5 days apart and the tracking was terrible. Must be Christmas time again.

This bow was refinished by the owner, so the strike plate is new as is the grip. From the pics, it look’s like he did a nice job.

Yep, I'm in the same boat, waiting for a bow to arrive and eagerly watching the USPS tracking for updates (which seem to be much slower than normal, maybe due to the holidays???). I sent an original Schafer riser to Dave Windauer for checkering & refinish and it's in its way back to me... yes, I also am a little eager.

you will love that 56 Kodiak, I have six of them, very good bows with speed

I am waiting also!!!! You never outgrow the feeling!!!!!!!!

Ahhh the waiting. Its a love hate relationship. I own a 57 kodiak and its better than the 59 in my opinion. That looks like a very nice recurve to welcome home.....although they must have written the specs wrong at 74#s.......47#s is way better :)

MN that's nice

Dan Toelke just called me and I'm waiting for Saturday as well.

Yep, it must be bc of Christmas, no tracking status yet. This only fuels my angst, but I’ll get through it...

The bow never hit the tracking status, but it just got here, unscathed, I’m still in shock. Thank you USPS!

I saw Mike's bow today in the parking lot where we meet for lunch. What a beauty. I yanked it back a few times, 74@28. I typically shoot 50 to 55,but it drew nice, mighty, but very smooth. I can't wait to shoot it tomorrow. He hasn't shot it yet and he has had it over 12 hours! Chuck S

Very nice.

Apparently all he got was an empty box?

SB you would think he'd post pictures. I may get some video of Mike shooting it tomorrow. Chuck S

I did shoot the Kodiak after I ate lunch with my brother. I ‘ve always felt my ‘56 Bear Polar was the most naturally pointable and accurate shooting bow I’ve ever had. But this ‘56 Bear Kodiak shoots just as well, but faster, or so it seems. From the middle of my driveway, to the back of my garage, is 35 feet. My first 2 shots were in the center of the target. Then I tried a few more shots further away and I was all around or near the center. I’m glad I bought the Polar from Camodave. It opened a vista I probably never would have looked into. These early to mid 50’s Bear bows were never something I was interested in. The original owner refinished it, spraying over the original finish with Min-Wax Satin Poly, and wrapped some serving material over a dent in the center of the limb, which he says was cosmetic. He did another wrap on the other limb just for looks. The previous owner didn’t have to ad this bow to the deal we made on the Dickie’s Fireball, but I’m gratefull he did. A lot of good folks on this L’Wall.
