My son tells me I'm seriously "old school". Guess I am and pretty proud of it.

Nice picture and good shooting... Whats the bow, it is unusual looking? Cheers alex

Alex. That is my Northern Mist Whisper. Reverse handle. 66" 51#@28. My arrows are douglas fir tipped with 145gn. Snuffers. There seems to be a bit more interest in reverse handle longbows these days. I have always enjoyed them and find them incredibly stable and quiet. Try one if you get a chance.

That is a great photo!!

If you're hunting with a bare trad bow you're pretty old school. That bow looks awesome. I need me a Northern Mist.

Love that pic. Everyone tells me I'm a die-hard when it comes to archery. Guess that's a conpliment, lol.

Nothing wrong with that. Everybody I know around here seems to buy the latest and greatest, new and improved whatever, every year. I stick with what's worked for me over the past 40 years, get along just fine and enjoy it. If the latest and greatest turns you on, I couldn't be happier for ya, but there ain't nothin' wrong with being old school. Embrace it, my friend. Great picture, thanks for sharing.

I like it. We have an old single tree hooked to a block and tackle in the machine shed at our farm that has hoisted many a deer. I like your photo a lot. It brings back many memories of such things around here.

Awesome, you're a great hunter.Keep it up.Love the pics, you remind me of my Dad.He was old school, but showed us all a few tricks.Bet you do the same.Congrats and Im gonna give the reverse handle longbow a shot..Thanks

From: TrapperKayak

That's a great photo, and a fine job of getting it done the real way. Congrats. And other than my cousins, I've rarely seen anyone tie the front legs to the top of the heads of deer to drag them out, that brings back a memory or two! Way to go!

I probably should have mentioned this in my original post.My son is my hunting partner. Every time he goes after me with the old school gig, I remind him to look at the hunting pants I gave him when he took up traditional hunting. You guys that have been around for while will recognize them. Seriously "old school" right!

Nothing wrong with old school! I wish I was "older school". I sometimes feel like I was born way too late. I don't remember the early 1900's ( how would I ?) but I think I would fit in nicely as far as I'm concerned.

Your boy called you old school!...what a nice thing to say! :)

From: olddogrib

Nice pic. I'm old school too. The good thing about "old school" was we didn't have the least bit of concern about what gender we wanted to be. We thought there was just one...kids! Nobody in my neighborhood would have considered themselves "privileged" over anyone else. When we came in at the end of the day we might have been "toxic" from all the dirt we'd grubbed in, but it covered up any excessive "whiteness" so that only needed abolishment in the bathtub. Nobody got accused of "excessive masculinity" because the girls were as dirty as the boys! Ahhh... things were much simpler then. I'd have suicidal thoughts too, if I had to grow up today!

Beautiful picture and quite a compliment. Anymore I'm just called old, sometimes I get the "school" part of it. Grandsons are tough on me until its time to keep up.
