Here's another gem I picked up recently...only needed to re- finish the riser with some wipe-on...the limbs are original and in perfect shape.

Tri-State used Perma-Glass...it's bi-directional but a much finer weave than other braided glass and seems very durable.

These bows are not common...I have one other that's 57" and 51#. Both are very light, yet fast and quiet.

The tips and overlays are similar on both...my shorter bow has even deeper recurves.

Riser laminations are identical on both bows...cross laminations are what make the bow light yet strong.

Used seal and leather on the rest and sideplate.

Thanks for looking Peter >>>--------->

It was Owens Permaglass, and the owner of Tri-State was Larry Owens...pretty sure of the first name. Great bows, I've owned several of them.

Another nice oldie doing what it's supposed to be doing. Not you Peter, their bow, yeah the bow! Lance.

HAHA!! Nice shot buddy!

Here's my other Jaguar...it has really big hooks...long before Border!

I'm going to have to dig mine out now, but not today, I just opened the door to the closet and closed it again! Lance

Those really were one of a kind... of course you could say that about a lot of bows (Bud Hit's for example), but I mean it in a good way for these Jaguars! That "leaf-spring" riser design reminds me a bit of the St. Charles Thunderbird, as well.

. Good shooter and nice looking, to boot. I'm astounded at how good the deals and original finish are. The only TriState bows I've seen floating around over the past few years have been rode hard. I made a half-hearted run at a Top Cat..not nearly as nice as those Jaguars but it reminded me of the Top Cat cartoon when some of us were kids.

What is very striking about them is how light they are and how quiet they shoot. I'll have to weigh them and post the result.

I think the dramatic curve on the riser and the resultant take off of the limbs is an important factor.

The finish on the limbs is quite durable and the Owen's Permaglass has a much tighter and finer weave than other braided glass and does not seem as prone to self destruct.
