Got this 6 point finally Sunday night during our deer gun season, got sick of passing the 150 and 160s up for a good eater lol, Shot this with a a widow a friend gave me 3 years ago it was in bad shape, twisted lower limb chip out of shelf and gouge in handle, got her fixed up and she is a shooter, I called widow and Rodger told me it was made in 1967, its 45@ 28 and 60" he said it was picked up in shop in Nov 1967, well it did it golden anniversary well, what a thrill

I love rubbing it in the nose of the gun hunters! Congrats on a fine deer. The only widows I ever cared for were the old ones. Nice to see it fixed up and making meat on it's golden anniversary!

In my younger days, we did the same thing. My friends and I were such bowhunting fanatics we went every weekend and when gun deer rolled around, we still took the woods with bows. This was on private parcels of land, Portage and Vernon Counties. Seems like the guys are more hung up on being BIG RACK heroes these days and have gone to rifles and crossbows to up their chances of success. Now its all about bragging rights and monitoring trail cameras. Too bad really, I can tell you it was far more fun, far more rewarding when we went to the woods with bows and a little woodsmanship. Nice deer.
