Fellas... I've booked a Spring Bear hunt and I'm taking my Centaur longbow on its maiden voyage. Thoughts on a quiver? The most important thing to me is - it has to be quiet.

Thunderhorn bow quiver, quiet and convenient. Also the most cost effective compared to similar quivers.

First things first: do you want it on the bow or on your body?
Is this hunt going to be mobile or fixed-position?
Catquiver is awesome for quietness while you’re on the move and you can hang it within easy reach while you’re on stand, so that and a leather BQ are all I’ve ever used. LBQ is mostly a small-game thing..

I had Thunderhorn on my recurve, great quiver,, but for the long bow, my preference is the "Side Kick" by Great Northern

Eagle's Flight Archery is my favourite on a bow without mounting bushings for a Kwikee quiver, which I think is what you are looking for...they are very light and quiet and would be great on a longbow.
I usually use a Kwikee and have mounted brass bushings on the bows I use the quiver on...understand that may not work for you but I liked being able to disconnect the quiver back when I hunted out of a tree stand, which you likely will be for bear.
The EFA is compact enough that it being left on the bow likely won't be a big issue in a stand.

The only time I like to really use a quiver is spot and stalk hunting. I would much rather shoot a bow without a quiver at all if hunting in a stand or a blind. When I do use one I will use either a Selway or a Great Northern. I have both and really like them if the hunt calls for having one. When hunting a stand or a blind, I just carry a small Crooked Horn quiver to the stand with me and set it on the ground or attach to a tree limb if in a tree.

For on bow i like the efa quivers with the totem pole option. For back i like safari tuff, which is soft and VERY light weight. But you cannot rule out the riverwolf alpha, which has a lil weight but is a hard tube quiver and has much more protection than the safari tuff.i cut the toes out of a wool sock and use it to slide down over the access hole for traveling. I can just throw the alpha in the back of the truck and not have to worry about it.

You didn't say bow quiver, but I think that is what you meant...or not. )) For a bow quiver there is nothing better than a Great Northern...light weight and quiet and holds 5 arrows.

Great Northern longbow model. Buffalo long hood would be my choice for that bow. A Bear leather top tape on that I bought converted with gn straps looks great on that style as well.

Great Northern Adjustable Kickback. Is it quiet? The one on the right I shot the day after this Thanksgiving. Best part about a one-piece is you can unstrap it and set it next to you if you change up your shooting position without unstringing your bow or having the two halves flop around.

We all have our preferences. I like a bow quiver, and among bow quivers, I like the slip on Selway best. Many of the others mentioned will also work fine.

I have a Big Jim quiver on my Buffalo now great quiver especially For the price. I did ask for a Great Northern Kickback Extreme long hood for X-Mas. I want to have my arrows (fletch end) to be more inline or behind my lower limb. For clearance in certain stands I hunt.

Have become a big fan of big Jim's quiver. Easy on off so once at your stand you can pop it off and it's as quiet as they come.

No bow quiver for me. A quiver on a bow is way too high tech white bread for me. lol Plains quiver. Way more arrows and way more comfortable than a back quiver. I ain't so flexible anymore.

I've owned several. Here's the list. Selway slide on, Alpine Soft Lock, Thunderhorn, Kanati, and Great Northern.
Don't care much for the Selway. The slide on model is not easy to put on as you must remove the bow string and slide the two parts down the limb. Friction dosen't help. Once in place it worked fine, but placed the fletched end on my arrows too far forward. Newer strap on type is probably better.
Thunderhorn was better. It straps on and works well once in place. Fletched end of the arrows were still too far forward. They do have a Linx model that off sets the lower section.
Softlock is very adjustable and will angle so the fletchings are behind the lower limb. The foam is not deep enough for longer broadheads like zwickeys and grizzlies.
The Kanati is one of my favorites for 2 blade BH's. Keeps the fletched end of the arrows behind the lower limb, and will remove and install intact. The hood is leather. 2 blade BH's slide into sleeves which makes the quiver very narrow and compact. I'll post a picture
Great Northern is my choice when using 3 blade BH's. Similar qualities as the Kanati, but with a typical foam filled hood.
Here is the Kanati. Not sure if they are in business, but look at the set back of the lower gripper section. I recommend you look for a quiver that angles back like this, straps on and off while in tact.

Should have mentioned that the Alpine Soft Lock mounts to the riser. Not a strap on or slide on.
