Looking at the 3R site... TC V2 is on sale, or you can just get the plastic jobs. Worth the extra $10 for the V2??

Good question. I have the old model True Center. I found it better than the plastic ones but neither one liked cutting hardwood shafts or Doug Fir.

I have used the V2 for years. I get great results on everything I use it on. Fir, poplar, cedar, boo, river cane and maple. And yes, its worth the money. The cheap plastic ones have cheap blades and dull quickly, or bend.

I use my V2 more than my Woodchuck. Very good results.

V2 works great on Douglass fir for me. I do change the blades as needed, I'd order a few just so I'd have them. It's a lot better than the original in my opinion.

V2 for me2 (that there is a pun)
If you are going to use the plastic ones, buy three or four of each size and you might get one straight one in each size. But, then you will have paid the price of a better quality anyway.
I have a bunch of whiffens and bearpaws that I won't even give away for concern for the recipient.

Good tip on the spare blades... that’s the sort of thing I usually tell myself I’m OK without, and then I’m stuck without. So how about spare screws?
Can’t help but wonder if this is really a sale price, or if they just couldn’t sell their own version for the same price as the BearPaw...

The pencil sharpener style taper tools, work but not great. If I were going to buy one I'd get the true taper. You'll probably be much happier in the long run.

Get the arrow fix tool or build a small angle guide using aluminum angles you can buy in every home depot for your disk sander/ beltsander combo.

Which would be lovely, if I happened to own a disc/belt sander!
I keep looking for one at a garage sales & thrift stores.... isn't that Arrow-fix about $150? Egad!
Good thought on having them done commercially, Batman - though I have 100 5/16” “youth” arrows to work through (all POC, fortunately!)... with 2 boys I thought it wise to buy them at $.75/each when Wapiti had a special on ‘em...
I’m just a little gun-shy, I guess, since I have an original Tru-Center paperweight on my desk...
