Hi all. I'm looking for some arrows which i can use for stump shooting (softwood) and for all round targets at the cottage (3d deer, tin cans on stumps etc.).

My bow shoots 800 spine Predator carbon shafts perfectly but I'm not sure how durable they are compared to my usual pine shafts.

Does anyone know if there are other, more durable carbons in this spine range available?

thanks Tom.

If you like what you're shooting ,pretty much any carbon is tougher than wood, if you use an aluminum footing. Not alot of tough arrows in that spine, I think Victory and Black Eagle make one. Easton makes the black Axis in a 700 spine, that's an real tough arrow, if you want to tune it to your bow. Good luck, have fun!

I'd put a short (1/2" or so) aluminum footing on them. A short footing won't mess with your spine requirements.

I like the predator iis in 800. I cannot vouch for their durability as of yet as ive only been shooting them a month or so. Wish we had more choices in this spine range. I did not foot mine as i think the outsert is designed to bolster that end.

Ahh yes...forgot those had outserts!

I have used them for stumping. They didn't fair too well with an adder behind a field point. However they held up well when I used a Bludgeon point.

They aren't as durable as you usual Pine shafts.

What poundage bow are you shooting? I shoot 35# and use cx2040 or 3050 with 125 grain tips. I stump with zwickey judos. Havent had a problem, and ive hit alot of "not so soft" stumps.
