Today's shot will be a re-creation of Kwickdraw's successful shot on a FINE buck from this weekend... "17 yds, quartering away, 17' up out of my tripod"... use what you can to get elevated or simulate being in a treestand... a stepladder, balcony, tailgate, hillside... stepstool... or just shoot from a sitting position hehe!

God Bless,

CD

Thanks CD, I missed, I shot Past the kill zone. sorry Wyatt.

I thought I allowed for the angle, must of had a bad release, I'm good for plucking the string, but getting better.

Good shootin folks.

Ron, I'm glad to see the old bow is still holding up for you. You must have done a good job on the repair.

Have a good one everybody and as always, thanks to Chad for making the call.

Hey Wyatt! Is that one of those NASP targets that says it's for UP TO 35# bows? I guess not! Was going to grab one the other day till I saw that poundage limit.

Sb, if I was shooting like you've been, I wouldn't let it bother me. Nice shot.

Glad to see you back shooting SB, and yes that is a youth target from Walmart - youth only, but they're talking about compounds I guess, cause I have 2 of 'em, and they stop stik and string arrows just fine, in fact I've never had one go completely thru. They only cost 25 buks, and last a long time. And I'm shooting a 68# stik at it, no problem. Try it, you'll like it! Wyatt

Thanks Wyatt! Yeah...my old Ames bag target is getting rotten. Even though it was always covered with a canvas tarp. Found out the other day that they are no longer being made! CRAP! From what I heard at the shop I guess they had a fire and that was the end! Always works that way when you find something you like to use.

Busy day in the taxidermy shop. I got a chance to shoot a few this evening inside the building my shop is in. Sorry, I had to shoot on the floor but it was 17 yds quartering. Thanks for the call. Jim

SB - no apology necessary! On that angle, I would take that placement any day but Sunday (but only because of the Blue Laws here... on private land, that’s 8 days a week).
