Good morning FS guys and gals. In stand down in the Missouri Ozarks. Maybe a FS later. I brought Mountain Mans bow along for the trip. Beautiful sunrise this AM. Have a great weekend everybody and thank you to our Veterans for your service. Thanks to you you're going to do the things I do today. JF

We know what you meant Jeff, good luck on spotting a deer, you don't need any luck shooting it.

I got my string for my Hickory bow last night and just had to try it I shot these 40lb spined arrows for this shot and they went sidways on the way to the target then straightened up at the last second. I did a walkup from the yardage on the photo

Bow Hickory that I made myself 50lbs. @ 28"

Arrows Cedar that I made

My Saturday FS was elevated 10’ with a 12 yard target slightly quartering away.

I was forward of where I was looking.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

My first shots this weekend were with a 1960 Howatt Hunter that spent the past week crossing the country from Walla Walla. 62", 50#. A classic from an era gone by...handsome but not ostentatious. It still has plenty of get up and go and got along quite well with the first arrow I introduced it to , a 2016 Easton XX75.

My evening shooting tonight was accompanied by a spectacular sunset and a young male black bear in a large hickory tree 25 yards behind me while I shot. The dogs had him preoccupied and vice versa.
