Lance gave me the longbow to hang in the cabin. It's a Jay St.Charles longbow that gave up the ghost on the belly side. English longbow of Ipe w/bamboo backing.

Nice!

The bow looks real good, and the cabin looks great. It's 22 for a high here in the Adirondacks with a steady strong wind greater than 22 today, so a stick of wood in that ole stove in that cabin would be firing and cracking up here.

How olds that stove George? That's pretty cool. Jim

very nice cabin, more pictures please!

Not sure about the stove, but at least fifty years and probably older. I traded my buddy a bow for the stove some years ago.

George, I love the old Remington poster you have there, at least if my memory is working today.

Neat cabin and that couch looks comfortable also, it's funny what you notice when you get older...Ha!Ha!

I've seen a Jay St. Charles longbow with belly chrysals, not strict ELB but it was a somewhat rounded belly. An Ipe weakness? Or at least not the best design for that wood? I've also seen a couple that hare holding up quite well and shooting very well also.

Beautiful cabin- and I got plenty of broken bows if you need more decoration... :-)

It looks good George. Thanks.

Dan W. - Jay had a bad bunch of Ipe and this was one of the bows that only made a few hundred shots until it splintered. As far as I know he's no longer using Ipe because of this. My Grandson has one and his is still fine as are many others. It was just one of those things that happen.

Lance.

It happens, no craftsman is immune. The best instrument builder I know had to replace almost a dozen pegboxes that pulled off his instruments from one batch of bad glue. Jay is one fine bowyer, I badly want one of his dual shelf Thunderbirds.

That IS nice. Settin by wood stove or flopped out on couch is in my top ten winter favorites. Simple is the best. The older I get the more I realize it.

The couch is where I bed down...it's comfy for sure. My guests can have the loft, or the roll out cot. We always have some sleeping bags there, and a few heavy blankets as well.

Yeah that Rem poster,,,I remember it from probably the '60s. A whole lot nicer than the current versions featuring 'pissed off hunter' face. lol
