Mr. Bobby Lofton was a bowyer that lived in the Mississippi Delta. He was a very precious man, he gave away as many bows as he sold. He had several different models. Most of the time they had an Indian name, Choctaw Chief, Choctaw Brave. His bows shot pretty good, he really didn't do a lot of measuring, just cut and filed by eye. I had two or three of his bows, wish I still had them. They are worthy to have due to their history.

As Craig said, soft-spoken good ol country boy who made good bows at a fair price. One year I bought a bamboo backed osage from him and like a fool, I sold it a couple years later. I've been looking for that bow for awhile now 66", 50#. His glass backed bows were Choctaw series and each one was a little different from the other. We lost Bobby a few years ago.

So if ou ahd a 12-year-old and you saw a decent price on a youth bow, you would.....

GF: I'd buy it. That's what both my kids started out on.

I've got a 64" 50# Choctaw. It developed a separation about the size of a quarter, so I quit shooting it. I always thought I was going to get it fixed, but haven't yet. I've got other bows, so It doesn't bother me to just look at it. It is a nice bow and does shoot a pretty quick arrow and draws very smooth and is quiet. It's the first LB/"trad" bow I bought. I really need to get it fixed. It really is a nice shooter. I always heard Mr. Lofton was a nice man. He made a fine bow.

I have a Lofton youth long bow I bought for a grandson years ago. It is a sweet little youth bow for sure. Wish we had more guys like Bobby who made good bows at a more than fair price.

My wife has a 62 inch, 42@28 bamboo backed Choctaw Chief that is a nice shooting, beautiful bow.
