Hey guys and gals,

Please post photos of your bear super mag 48" black phenolic and some history of the bow of you know it. I am getting one in the mail tomorrow and cannot wait.

How do you tell the year by the serial number?

I've probably had mine for 20 years or so - bought at a gunshop for $25 bucks if I remember correctly. I like short bows and this one is fun to shoot. Never had a chance to kill anything with it, but I've tried! At 46" strung up, it works great in a tree stand. The first digit of the serial number on 1960's bows is the year. Mine's a '66 - first year of manufacture I think. Hope you enjoy yours! Ben

I've got a '66 too. I like it. Sorry no pic right now. Maybe tomorrow.

Serial number will be the year of manufacture. 6,7,8,9.

Here's my Supermag...1968.

Popped up on eBay one night as a " Buy it Now" at a very appealing price so I bought it now!

Thought it would be a stacky and twitchy little monster that I would move along in short order but was quite surprised at how forgiving it was once I got it and shot it. It is fun to shoot and more forgiving than one would imagine.

I don't usually post pictures of it because crookedstix really wants this one and he'll bug me to sell it to him! Frisky will do the same thing as he secretly lusts after a Super Mag as well.

Beautiful bows. I have a Phenolic 47# Wing Thunderbird. It is a long 52" though. Amazing how much they look a like.>>>---> Ken

That's my favorite Super Magnum. Too bad it's shown next to a bogus 1 shot group.

Admittedly a very nice one shot group though eh Joe.

When you shoot the first arrow that well Frisky you don't need a second one!

(It's not even on the bullseye and I did shoot it from a whole seven yards to take the shot!! HAHA)

Funny we have not heard from crookedstix...he loves short bows!

Thanks a million Lance but I'll keep this one!!

Anyone have a 35# for sale?

From: tomandrews

I could use 35 to 40 lb. lefty.

New shot one. I don't see why I wouldn't like them as others do. Rooty

I'd buy a LH just because, but all the lefties that I have seen have been stress cracked to hell and back, it's great to see some that are not even if the shelf was built on the wrong side, and restores my confidence to keep an eye out.
