A great bow-hunter is patient, understanding, pays attention to detail, is thoughtful, pays attention to body language, and is concerned about his body odor. What's not to love?

The time he spends away from home. :)

JusPassin,

I applaud your humor and insight. I believe you just came up with the official LW bumer-sticker. ;0)

I love it, gotta try that on my wife!!!

If it was only that easy.

Hawkeye's right -

One big difference is that you never want a Deer to know you've heard it, but a Dear needs to know not just that you heard, but that you were listening!

hawkeye in PA, You sure said a mouthful there. LOL

Makes perfect sense to me.

Just in case my wife is reading this stuff.....bowhunters who can continue hunting after marriage and stay married have great wives! Who else would put up with being late for dinner, gone before daylight, home after dark, blood on the kitchen door, slime in the sink strainer, tubs of bloody meat in the fridge, hunting clothes everywhere, day old gut tub out back, oh yeah don't forget the bloody finger prints on the fridge door, no more places to hang things on the wall if you know what I mean. And...listen to all of the tales of the hunts as If they were interested...............here is where I did right, I got married on the first day of deer season!

One minor drawback there. A true hunter likes field dressing his object of his patience, understanding, attention ...

Bruce is pulling your leg. I used to live across the block from him. Right-Guard and Aqua Velva is not the same as a bath. The Story City cop car smelled funny, a combination of cigarettes, baby powder, stale coffee and gym socks.

Draven,

As apposed to field undressing???

From: Draven
Date: 12-Oct-17

Some can say that field undressing is the first part of field dressing ...

Neverwqork, just walk into the garage, office. See all the bows, tents, trucks and $ for traveling, license, . Nope never by it

Must be why my wife loves me. cannot imagine life without her.

Iv'e been with her since I was 17 yrs old. Back when we were dating she thought it would be fair if I cut my hunting back to two or three days a week.

In all these years She has never once complained about my love for hunting, or the time I spend afield.

And don't forget the stiffer shafts!

Years ago, wife and I were at a very nice restaurant having dinner with a hunting buddy and his wife. It was the first time the wives met.

The other wife was really complaining about hunting and fishing time, foolish gear expense, and the waste of time. She asked my wife - don't you resent all of that? My wife very dryly said that she supports me 100% and the hunting and fishing keeps me out of the bars and whor*houses.

A good bowhunter, and likewise a good husband, strives for deeper penetration!

My wife wears more expensive boots and clothing than I do. Nuff said. LOL!

Iv tried stuff like this on my Gal and she don't seem to see humour in it lol but I should apply these tactics months before planning a hunting trip! now I'll have to work these words in to the planning to get in a hog or gater hunt while her and the girls are at Disney in Florida next year lol , thanks JusPassin

You got to much time on your hands Bruce go out and hunt.LOL

I interrupt this marriage to be involved in the hunting season. My mistress has always been hunting and fishing. LOL

They either understand it or they move on.Not much in between. Then you have those who are jealous of your time alone. LOL

And just because they don't say anything that don't mean there isn't a fire burning in the kettle either.

There's a lot of variables and men find them out one by one.

I used to hunt in work clothes after a day pounding nails. I was just happy to be there. As for wife, mine has never given me $%#@ about any of my interests, how I smell, or look. She's my woman and I treat her as such. That's what she wants. She doesn't want some soft metro dude that caters to her every whim. nO wonder so many guys are hen pecked they let that crap happen.

Been with my wife over 40 years. Hunting and archery a passion over 50 years.

Wife would never ask me to give it up cause she knows I love it...but if she ask me to give up ....I would give it up in a heartbeat for her.

Is that too squishy enough for you! LOL!

My first wife was a saint I just didn't understand until she was gone that I thought she would never leave. Still can't believe she did to this day that wan't who she really was. Her parents talked her into it I blame them for that alone.

I always told her I'll calm down one day when I can't keep the pace just be patient.

I knew something was wrong when she made me wait at airport 2hrs for her to get there one time to pick me up from a caribou trip I was on in 1990. LOl

She said on the way home she wanted a divorce and when I got home she gave me the papers. I knew we weren't going to get friendly that night.LOL Some homecoming.

I should have played things different now that I look back. I lost a lot in that one actually my life that I came to realize over the many years.

She had everything she wanted she told me but not you have to many mistresses.

My father told me I better not marry a city girl. She won't want to be involved in what you do and at the time I didn't want her involved wanted her home to take are of home and family but didn't realize that has its set of rules also and when you don't have any rules that don't mix either.

I was to busy blazing new trails always. It was my fault not hers but her parents hated me because of the things I did and had that they didn't understand.

I had more chances than cats have 9 lives.

Yes Bruce, the chief then was a guy with blond hair. I lived in the apartments on the south end of town, while I was working on the campus. I shot a deer in the green belt that year. The woman with all of the kids helped butcher it. Turns out she was a working girl and had a tricky way of paying her rent. Her oldest scrawny son hid drugs under a bucket in those tree south of the the apartments. Were you around when he took off al of his clothes and put the moves on the big farm girl in the Caseys? Her dad let me hunt on his farm, she could throw bales better than I could. She kicked that druggy half to death, I was told. I heard that Dave became a sheriff. I had to get out of that construction shoring thing, they were going to ship me off to North Dakota, so I went back into the printing business. Which allowed me to have more hunting time and get my music degree.

Oh, bowhunters and husbands, my wife was expecting our second, there was no way I was going continue living out of suit cases and leave her home alone after the Storm Lake project was done for my part. The thread should include wives make good bowhunting and canoe tripping partners.

"BOWHUNTING WIVES MAKE THE BEST WIVES" until they go to Alaska Bear hunting and I had to stay home and work. She did arrow an 10 7/16" Blackie at 8 steps while kneeling on the ground!

Mines a good one. Doesn’t like hunting or archery really but, let’s me do my thing with minimal grief. Mostly just let’s me know when i’ve Been out way too much and we need an us night or I am going hunting’s when something else needs to be going on.

GF's on to something about the hearing. My wife has hearing aids and she thinks I need some too. Maybe I can hear good enough to hear deer better than dear.

From: Bob Rowlands

lol

From: GF
Date: 14-Oct-17

Bob - if you even THINK that you might need hearing aids... YOU NEED HEARING AIDS!!! With one son completely deaf (without his technology) and one deaf on one side, we spend a lot of time contemplating such things around here....

But I’ve had lousy high-frequency reception since I was in college - just doesn’t take that many boxes of shotshells to do you in on the muzzle side. Missed a deer in just my second season because I heard leaves crunching off to my right, and by the time I looked around far enough to my right to figure out she was coming in from my left, she blew outta there... I’m not sure, though, if the cheap, OTC types are worth messing with; they amplify EVERYTHING, whether you need it or not. But maybe in the quiet of the woods....

What really chaps me, though, is that insurance won’t cover the damn aids. Even for kids. God help you (financially) if your kid is only hearing impaired and can be helped without a bionic implant.

Sorry for the rant, but at least I’m not complaining about an ex!

We need to licence others what they say because of fake news!!!!!!!!!!!!

Years back they got burned at the stake when they were thought to be whitchs.LOL

My first one was a good one though. 2nd was evil as they come and I disobeyed God and got tangled up and reprimanded for it.

God let me know! Was brought to my knees a number of times because of it.

Its 1 wife! Not popular in the world when that's said.Satin is very crafty on us.
