...You've dealt with the seller before. I recently bought a bow from the classifieds that was badly misrepresented. The seller may have been uninformed enough to the point that in his mind, the bow was as he claimed in the ad. Long story short, the bow is trash and I disputed the sale and submitted this to pay-pal. I got my money back. If I had paid with a money order I'd be out the money. OR, if I'd payed with pay-pal, "friends & family" I'd be out the money. Pay-pal benefits honest sellers and the buyers. It's the only way I'll buy a bow from a private individual online unless I've successfully deat with the seller in a previous transaction without issue.

was this one as bad as the one where a pretty good chunk of the glass was raised up on the limb you posted a few days ago? or is it the same one? whichever, glad you got your money back...ron

Glad to hear it worked out well for you…

I don’t mean to be a downer, but right now I’m feeling sad to say that you really don’t know how a person will handle an issue until you’ve HAD an issue with them. We thought we had the best landlady in the world.... until about yesterday. I’ve never asked for prayers here before, but anyone who wants to pray for her to be released from the insanity of greed so she can listen to reason would be doing her a real favor, and it might help us out as well...

Just don’t hi-jack the thread - God knows you’re praying whether you do it here or not, and if it works, we’ll know!

Anyway... I’m happy to report that I’ve been very lucky within the “Trad” community; first bow I bought arrived with a note that said “Send me a check if you want it; send it back if you don’t.” Next was Okaw, who helped out Ol’ Santa with a great deal on a just barely used Black Rhino for my younger son. Another was my first pay-pal experience - used F&F without incident and got a friend/mentor out of the deal. Another was “pay me when you can”, and proved more than patient. And the last was a trade where we swapped tracking numbers - one of us had to go first! - and the other guy ended up reimbursing me for shipping and then passed along 9 GTs just to even things up a little further.

Anyway... here’s to all the Good Guys!

Yep, Same bow. The seller claimed he was going to refund but couldn't even though pay-pal contacted him with instructions on how to do it. Finally, pay-pal took over after I proved I'd returned the bow with a tracking #, pay-pal refunded the money.

OK so who was the seller? The guy will most likely try to sell the bow again.

glad you got your money back. Paypal does protect the buyer well.

sometimes they are pain for the seller, but they also do have policy in place to protect the seller as well (just have to follow their protocol). I'd take the added security. -ted

Ravenbows sent me a nice bow covered in bug spray. He never mention that. My fault for dealing with him and not getting more pics. I've had very few issues but some stick out. Rooty

About 10 rears ago I had an issue with a seller on another site. Paypal refunded 30% of my money. I have sold items using Paypal since, but I pay with postal money order.

I have an issue with a deadbeat trader on this site from earlier this year. He won't respond to my contact attempts. He hasn't posted here in several months. I only hope he hasn't died.
