I love this time of year. Leaves are all colors and are still hanging on to branches.

Mast on the ground.

Rain showers make the air smell about as clean as anything out there.

This is the best time IMO

Be safe !

Yes please be safe and pay attention to what we are all doing. I need to take these words and tattoo them on my arm and look at it all the time. I been having my share of drama going on this season so far past few weeks.LOL

Yup, agree. This year is a bit different though. Mast crop here is very minimal, apples are abundant, and colors are relatively dull. Rain is frequent, and weather is above average warm. This weekend, record warm. Therefore no hunting yet. Going kayaking in the 'dacks, but am taking bow along just in case... Love it, I can use some outdoor time in warm BUGFREE Adirondacks. Yeah! Go Yankees!!! (Sorry, sir m, had to do that...) :)

Our leaves aren't changing yet but I agree. We just had our first cool front and I was in the woods to enjoy it. :-)

This was always my favorite week of the year on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Leaves on the trees, Grouse in the woods, Salmon in the rivers and Frost on the tent. Add the kayak and the mountain bike to the fly-rod and shotgun, and there was not much more a guy could ask for. Well, maybe a good dog and a fishing partner who looked especially good in hip-boots....

One more week until my favorite time. Weather tends to become steady, winds steady, and deer activity spikes. Bugs really drop off too. As long as the weather doesn't stay goofy...

End of the first week of Nov. and beginning of second is my favorite. White oaks and persimmons not giving much here in my spot this year and still green.

Came back from northern NH through northern VT today and the leaf color is great. Have some Cortlands in a bowl ready to be the center of attention in an apple pie. Cool enough to sleep good. The cool wet weather also makes a cup of coffee taste good too. Fine camping and better hunting weather. Wow great time of year for sure!

Yes it is, The fish are biting , the animals are getting frisky , food taste better , cool nights make whiskey good. And I work outside so fall is a blessing after a long hot summer.

Aspens went from green to yellow to on the ground in a week. 8 inches of wet snow at 7000 feet helped-full moon did not. Deer are starting to run together now. Season’s over for archery now here in Nevada. Might pack up for KY next month

mid to upper 80's 78% humidity 73 night time low. Hard to get to the woods in these conditions. Hope it cools off soon. Good thing I hunt only 1 mile from my deer processor.

Heading up to Inlet and the Moose River Plains this afternoon. Kayaking on 4th Lake, or Limekiln Lake, hearing the loons, staying in a wall tent, and early morning hunt in the Plains. Clouding up now, and in the 40s, but forecast says 70s to near 80 by Sun. I doubt it up there. This will be our view out of the tent. Adirondacks are great.

Mountain Man, what kind of bow is that? And is that green glass I'm seeing or just glare from the fletching/leaves?

TrapperKayak, I sent you a PM about your tent set-up. Very cool!

I agree, Oct 15th thru Nov 15th is my favorite time of year.

Fall is my favorite season as well. Good luck to you guys.

Eddie, pm'd you and emailed you a pic. I wish it were mine, but its a rental at the Woods Inn in Inlet, NY. But its still nice, not that spendy, and a helluva lot easier to 'set up' that way. :) I must be gettin' old.
