I've had this stave roughed out for quite sometime and decided I needed to finish it. I had it tillered to 50@25 when Dan said he'd love to own one of my bows some day. I knew he had an unorthodox anchor and drew quite short for such a big guy, 24" so I let him draw it. Every thing looked good so I decided I was going to give him this one. He has a deep appreciation for things like this so the decision was easy. He posed for the full draw pic and doesn't even know it's his yet:)

It sure ain't Osage Craig. It's pretty tough for white wood though.

Dan just texted me a pic of a bottle he hit at 13 yards on the 2nd shot and had some nice words as well. Makes a guy feel pretty good

Dan:

I can't even begin to tell you how much this bow means to me for so many reasons. And how special for me to witness all of your work and artistry in building it. It's going to get hunted hard this season. I can't wait to shoot it. Thanku so much Steve. You're an amazing person and I'm so glad that our paths have crossed in this life. Thanks for always being there for me. You're a great friend.

Awesome. Tiller looks great. From the looks of that note you gave it to the right person. Selfbows are special and they really should go to someone that understands that each one is unique. Good for both of you guys. I hope we see a picture of it laying across a deer soon.

Nice looking bow and a nice gesture on your part. I'll bet you get more enjoyment out of that bow giving it to your buddy than if you kept it for yourself. You guys are both lucky.
