NOt knowing the type of terrain, but normally use secondary trails that are deeper in the woods, or thickets as opposed to fields. You will probably start seeing them more once the rut starts.

Relax , it's early and they tend to be very lazy right now. As October progresses you'll see them.

if you have does the bucks are around and will come. sometimes i only see certain bucks during the full rut then they vanish tell next year. this time of year they are mostly still in bachelor groups (bucks hanging together) and the older wiser ones will stay in the woods tell dark so most the bucks will stay with them. as the pre rut begins they will start splitting up and your chance of seeing a buck or two will increase as the rut gets closer.

Very few buck sightings this time of year where I hunt. Now if I watch the far side of the neighbor's field behind me, I'll catch the bachelor group heading south to feed once in a while. Come mid to late October however, then they come through. If you have does, you will have bucks at that point.

The reason being is that by nature we look for the heaviest deer sign we can find. That usually means we have found a doe and fawn family herd. Go to the thickest crap with minor deer sign and it should be the bucks.

Bucks are still in their bachelor mode right now...here in Pa. anyway. Once the first doe comes in estrous, they start mixing it up. If you are seeing does, you should be happy. The bucks will be there eventually, depending on when your historical rut time starts. If I'm seeing does, I'm pretty confident that the bucks will be there. As mentioned above, they typically don't stay on the same trails as the does and younger deer. They will cut and intersect those trails in more dense areas of cover. At least that is how it works here in old Pennsyltucky.
