Lots of guys have used them so I don't know what could go wrong. It's just longbow limbs on an ILF riser...a hybrid by design.

Almost all ILF risers are made for recurve limbs. Sure you can shoot longbow limbs out of them, but the limb pad angles are really more obtuse than they should be for longbow limbs. Of course, you can crank the bolts down as much as possible on longbow limbs to reduce that angle. They will shoot, but just not the most efficient out of that type of set up.

I have found longbow limbs to shoot just fine out of certain risers , there is a definite difference in limb pad angles , seems they perform better from steeper angle . I have 15" risers that require stiffer arrows then some of my 13" risers . Fit is standardized to some extent , so why can't pad angles , would make judging weight much easier .

The reason, {I suspect} as talked about early on when short ILF limbs started being made was, that it puts too much stress on the limbs.

How bout recurve ILF limbs on a longbow riser?

ILF Longbow limbs need to be designed so they have reflex right off of the fades to compensate for the recurve riser limb pad angles so they match the normal limb pad angles of a longbow riser. This will give much more pre-stress which will give performance close to a recurve if not better. I've done some software tests converting my takedown longbow limbs to ILF and adding the reflex right off the fades showing very good performance numbers. Now I need to get healthy so I can give that a try.
