Folks, a little help please. Looking for the replacement spool for a string tracker I purchased in the 80's...? The spool measures 7/8 O.D. X 2 1/2 Long. I tried Lancaster, and 3 rivers. No luck.

If crowfoot or the Blackstick information can't help you. I may have one. Best of luck with it.

George, perhaps I should have said first generation string tracker. The newer models are much larger in diameter.

Crowfoot, thank you.

Tracker we used to sell the original models at our archery shop. We also sold Shaft Spiders which had to be put inside the shaft at the back end, with the string coming out of a hole in the shaft. Don't know how many of those we did but I was glad when the Game Tracker became more popular.

Stopped to a yard sale last summer and a guy had maybe 30 of them on a table for $l.00 each. I bought a few just for the material. Will see if I have any left as I gave a bunch away.

I bought one the 1st time I went on a bear hunt. After a couple of practice shots, I decided not to use it. Didn't like the sound it makes as the arrow goes toward the target.

Sounds like you might have the old "skinny" string tracker. You might have to buy a whole new unit since the smaller older string tracker spools May not be made any more..besides the bigger ones are better since they hold more string and end hole is larger.

Shaft Spider mounted in the front of shaft and the line went out the a hole near the nock. Very quiet, easy to use-no tying, 1800 feet of line.

Nice find MFG, if my memory is right..then that package on the far right is the replacement string for the skinny "1000" string tracker unit. I had a String Tracker like the one in front with the metal string clip, I duct taped it to my my Fred Bear Take Down riser back in 1998 on a very wet hog hunt. I shot 2 hogs, neither went more than 50 yards..I had forgot to bring a piece of rope to pull hog to trail..I made a rope out of the string tracker string that was on the ground..

Here is an old address on a string tracker. Not sure it would help but is a possibility.

Game Tracker also made a 3000 model.

I think the spools came from a electrical supply they use them for shooting string through conduit to pull wires through .

I still have two of The Game Tracker Model 1000. This one is still in the package. I also have two of the shaft spiders from back in the 1980s.

Try Big Jim, He had both trackers and replacement spools a few months ago.

Drifter Archery has the replacement spools. Don`t care what you think-they work great for turkeys!

So if you put a bad shot on a turkey, rely on a string tracker?

I know a couple of guys that used string tracker on black bears. The brush was usually so thick the string broke. It did work a couple times though.

My first bear hunt in Colorado, my outfitter insisted on them, they worked great, and have been using them for 40 years,,, I never hunt a rainy day without one,,,,, I have 3. Last year I lucked out and found 3 refill line in orange at Luckys bait shop in Iron River MI,,,,,,

What I can not find anymore is the line clips that slid on the screw in part, of my head. It had small holes on each side, one to slide on the bh, and the other to tie the line on...If anyone had some, I would buy them

I tried to copy the design, using paper clips, but just not as good,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

maybe someone hear, can post a picture of what I am talking about,,,,, they make the trackers, but I do not think they make the clips anymore

They are great for turkeys. I’ve had birds pitch off of steep hills and glide 100’s of yards after a lethal hit. I’ve had them run into a thicket and tuck under brush. They are definitely nice. I won’t use them on deer because the add noise and deer are so jumpy. I don’t use the clips, I use the method Curt Cabrera uses. A small strip of Velcro around do the arrow, just behind the head. A few wraps and an overhead knot holds it super securely
