Does anyone have an old Screaming Eagle catalogue? Paul a runner used to run a mail order business based around his Screaming Eagle tree stands, but he had a catalogue that included many different items for bow hunting. I’m looking for an old copy. Even scans of the pages of the old catalogue would help.

I'll look, I keep a lot of those catalogs, from that period if they were good. But I have house cleaned. I probably wouldn't have housecleaned if I had know catalogs were on the way out.
I still have quite a few of his products. I visited their Ovando ranch once, and so I was able to cart away a fair haul. I am planing on setting up to make the stands. Not commercially, I just want a bunch to use myself, and they are simple to build if you have a welder and a bender. I remember seeing the factory they built them in at the ranch. I wish I had a picture, it was sorta an open shed with a stump to tie them two, and two guys were stick welding them, or something like that, it was back in the 90s I would guess.
Paul Brunner/Too Short is an infrequent visitor here.

I use to go to the Screaming Eagle store in Pittsburgh ( New Kensington ). It was run my Roger Rea. A few times I met Paul Brunner there when he was visiting from Montana. I own two Screaming Eagle Eaglet stands and one of the Original Screaming Eagle stands. I miss that store.

I think I remember seeing ads with elk hanging from the stand to show how strong they were. Then some P.C. people complained and they started using a Volkeswagon bug instead?

Best catalog with traditional equipment ever. I still use my screw-in portable tree seat and felt his tree stands were great. On top of that he sold Filson products as well as Swanndri wool camouflage. I miss it.

I still have one of my treestands...and still use maribou feathers for my wind detection. ...and a Swandri jacket for cold weather that still looks brand new as it shrunk from hanging on hanger in closet.... :) LOL

Somebody ought to scan the old classic catalogs, just to preserve a bit of traditional archery history before it's lost.

BATMAN, Paul Brunner doesn't run own Screaming Eagle now. I am in contact with him from time to time.
His catalog and book, "Treestand Hunting" are what got me in to traditional archery.

Coincidentally, I got an email from Paul this morning. He's doing well... real well!!! He was posed behind a GIANT bull elk he just shot this week. Absolute beautiful bull with outstanding brow tines and abnormally great G2s.Very impressive for a 73 year old geezer! I think he's got about as many big bull elk as anyone. He done good! bw

I kept a couple of the old catalogs, one is ragged. Every so often I thumb through them and think back. Good stuff. Oddly enough, I pulled out Gene Wensel's first book, "Hunting Rutting Whitetails" a couple nights ago. Takes me back to the beginnings of getting it figured out. There's even a picture of Barry wearing a cowboy hat posed behind a big buck.

The VW Bug ad us what sold me on the SE treestand. That was my first year back into archery.Over the years I bought quite a few items from Paul and learned a lot about bowhunting from the books/vids he carried.Anybody use the Boss mount bracket version? My concern is there might be some squeaking from the metal on metal.

The Wooly Boogers are easy to make. I have a pattern and cut out sheep skin with dark wool. Then sew them up with a Speedy Stitcher or artificial sinew and cadaver needles. I just used them on an Elk hunt in howling wind and rain squalls. Kept my hands toasty and fingers warm enough to shoot when a big bull walked by me AT 2 FREAKING YARDS! I needed to change my drawers after I shot him when he got out to a reasonable range....6 yards!!!!
Ron...I don't go to New Zealand until the day after Christmas. Family stuff. In 2016 I went alone and fished every day. Covered 1,013 miles on trout streams in three months and then another 211 miles goat hunting! Retirement sucks!

To 76aggie....If someone will tell me how to get a photo in here, I will take a picture of my form and include measurements.
Once I have the wool cut out, I turn it WOOL SIDE OUT, stitch it, and then turn it WOOL SIDE IN. Sometimes you can get a brown sheep hide and the leather side will be brown, too. Otherwise, you will have to use magic markers (brown and black are good) and do some scribbling.
Spotlight, Bob? You know me better than that. If you didn't make the finest arrows in the world I would challenge you to a duel (with bows)! Ha!

I do some leather work, and Wooly Boogers have been on my radar for some time. Bear with me while I say, that I have been really lucky with the women, but not a make it happen sort of guy. Great women have shown up and attached themselves when needed. What is a shy guy to do? So a few years back, I am in the Costco and they have these great looking sheepskins, the whole skin minus the mask. I look them over and find one that has a thick enough skin to do lanrich tabs as well as the mitts. They have really long hair I am going to have to clip to get what I am after, but the price was about 25 bucks!
So I roll up the skin, stick it under one arm, and saunter up to the cash, just hanging out waiting for various family members to catch up. Danged if one really hot looking woman after another doesn't come up wanting to be introduce to my "really cute looking dog". Who knew. Well I didn't. But if I ever find myself alone in the world again, I am going to the pound and adopting the hairiest looking pom pom of a dog and sticking it under one arm.

I started ordering from the Screaming Eagle Catalog when I was 18 years old. Every payday I would order something new. For 28 years I've been using the same arm guard, strap on bow quiver, wool gloves and balaclava helmet. Not to mention screaming eagle stands and too many arrows and accessories to count. My bows always have a wind feather attached from my original pack ordered in 1992. I,m now down to my last two feathers. Also adorning my wall is a beautiful osage self bow with copperhead skins, kudu tips and water buffalo horn arrow shelf. It has Lakota inscription on it that no one knows what it means, including Paul. But I was assured by Paul before buying it, it did not say anything perverted. I was able to take a doe with it before the limbs cracked. After several years of heavy shooting with a draw that was really too long for it's length, it gave up the ghost. As a teen I spent countless hours perusing the pages of those catalogs. Well, until i discovered girls that is lol! Good hearing from you Paul!
