Last week I was out for a jaunt and I found a dead standing Osage sapling. I was in the mood and had a little time on my hands so I decided to give it a go. I've been admiring some of the beautiful short bendys Simon and some of the guys on Primitive Archer make so that was the design I was going for although my work doesn't compare to those guys. Anyway this one is 58" overall and 45@28. It is 1" wide and tapers to 1/4" tips overlay ed with deer antler. It had a few cracks that got filled with CA glue and it got coerced a bit with dry heat but so far it has survived this hack / bowyers endeavors and shoots very nice. Once again I'd like to thank Pearl Drums for tolerating all the texts and pics. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge Chris.

Looks great Steve! Not your first attempt overall, eh? Bends nicely, and I agree, great color. Shoot the hell out of it!

Hack your butt. You make nice bows, Steve. And a 58" Selfbow fully drawn? That's a nice little longbow right there. How's it shoot?

Bows with class need wear no glass!

John, at only an inch wide it doesn't have a chance to show much crown. Jeff it shoots very well, no hand shock at all like I've heard said about bendys. It a little scary feeling that handle bend though!

Steve, I'm a little late seeing your bow, but like the rest of the admirers, fantastic job.

It really looks nice, especially when drawn, and beautiful coloration.

I don't know if I will ever attempt a bendy handle bow for the same reason it feels a little scary.
