I though you might want to see what you get with the verta tune. If you want a close up of anything let me know. The 840 limbs are super smooth.

Looks very nice Crow. Hope it meets all your needs.

Strictly forcenjoyment. Will shoot some local 3D and some indoor target practice. No competition though,, just for fun.

Crow what's the specs? Are you going to try to hunt anything with it? Besides paper, which is plenty fun?

Its 23 in riser,,, medium limbs for a 66 in bow,,,, limbs are 40 on a 25 in riser so on my 23 they are about 42. No hunting with it. Ive got the wo satoris and widow for that.

Drybones ,,, if I could get another one it would be the powder black finish and camo limbs for hunting. It would be a grest hunting bow i think.

I like it

One more, and you'll have to excuse the lack on knowledge. I just looked up the limbs since I was curious, and they are carbon/wood. I thought that they would have been carbon/foam? My only dealings with carbon and wood ended in heart-break. Are most of the target style bows still using carbon/wood limbs or?

I didnt think I would like the 23 in riser. Thats because the satori 21 with long ljmbs for 66 just seemed odd looking to me. Now the 23 with mediums for 66 looks just fine.I wouldnt change anything.

How does "looks just fine" matter?

Also, why not compete in 3D? Something to do with philosophy or with personal anxiety? fwiw I think it's good for me to engage whatever personal anxiety I have, ymmv.

This seems like the wrong forum to ask about "most of the target style bows" IMO.

from what I've seen, paper target shooters debate wood/carbon/glass Vs wood/glass for very subjective reasons (feel etc). Some prefer wood.

That's great riser. I sure do like the one I'm playing with.

No anxiety just like shooting for fun. Imay do some copetition. Im definitley going to try the ole 300 round. I shot 356 with compound. Bet i wont do that with a recurve.

Thanks fdp.

My impression is that trads are often weird-attitude about competition. I never did like team sports, always preferred solo. IMO that's some kind of psych issue. I don't think 300 round is comparable to 3D....different psych, more immediate, not just a matter of final score.

I love the 3 D also. Always did like paper and 3D. Never shot field. Dont know anything about it.

Crow, congrats on a great looking recurve and if it shoots half as good as it looks it will be a winner. I find nothing wrong with posting pics. of your bow on this site.

Shooting targets be it 3D or paper it's all about shooting/learning your bow, it's called Archery. Don't let anyone rain on your parade it's a great looking bow go shoot and enjoy.

Great looking bow! Makes me want to get another ILF set-up. On the Hoyt website, a while back, there was pics of a guy that hunted with his Aerotec recurve. Like many, I like almost all bows.

Me too Jeff. I love widows and about any wood re v urve but the olympic recurve has always appealed to me. I will not have a sight though. I will be string walking. Thanks

Like your bow Crow, it's very nice. Took me a long time to appreciate metal risers and the ILF system. Although not an epic, I shot a friends Hoyt Horizon one night at our club and I must admit, that's the best I've ever shot in all my years of Trad archery. Enjoy your bow!
