Hey fellas, just looking for arrow recommendatuons for a 100 lb recurve. I currently have 32" Easton FMJ Dangerous Game .250 arrows. I shoot these out of a 110 lb Kassai Bear and a 130 lb ELB, so I assume they will be fine. 75 grain HIT inserts, 125 grain tips, 8 grain per inch weight tubes. Total weight just over 1000 grains. I normally draw 29.5 inches, but pull to 32" with ELB, hence the 32" length on arrows. Thanks.

2016 aluminum shafts work on some 50# draw weights. Tape two 2016 shafts together, and you are good to go for a 100# bow.

Do you use your feet and pull it back with both hands...haha Years and years ago we used to slide a smaller shafted arrow inside a larger arrow to get our kinetic energy up on dangerous game but what ever comes out of those other bows should be adequate.

I have no problem with pulling 100# on my shooting sessions...it just takes 4 shots with my 25# bows and I am there.

Call a shaft company "sherwood" and ask for custom, Not 100% sure but I think they shape shafts to 23/64 ths, then sand them down to 11/32 nds and 5/16 ths. you may be able to get an unsanded 32/64ths doug fir shaft that you can hand sand and keep up to the desired spine.

Yeah, hickory will get you there without too much diameter if you'd like to use wood. I've made 85-87 lb spine hickories that were still just 11/32" diameter.
With 125 grain heads they came in right around 10 g.p.p.

I've doweled many hundreds of hickory arrows from 1/2" x 1/2" rips with a Veritas Doweler. I bored out the rear exit guide bushing so I could get a wider diameter blank with higher spine. If I leave the two planes set at maximum diameter setting, I'll get spines in the 90 range like clockwork. 'Wide open' setting results in spines over a hundred and sometimes up to about #125. This is all overkill for my #55 bow, but just saying it is very easy to get wood arrows with very high spines, that would work for a #100 bow.

Hey Robert!!
Just met my neighbor for the first time the other day. That long bow he's pulling back......I could only pull it back about an inch!!! And the arrow he showed was, indeed, almost a telephone pole.
