Make a deal with Pearl Drums! I always wanted a Yew selfbow so this past winter Chris and I did a little horse trading and today I got this beautiful Yew bow in the mail. It is 50@29 68". The pictures don't do it justice. I'll post some full draw pics when I can get someone to take one but Pearl is the biggest tiller Nazi I know so I'm betting it is spot on ;)

You got one from a master, and a great guy to trade with!

That is a beautiful bow. I love the tips, grip and arrow shelf. I would love to have one but I suspect Pearl has more of ever thing that I might have to trade. I do have a beautiful Osage that Arvin made for me. He is an artist also and we made a good trade. Unfortunately I can't post pictures.>>>----> Ken

Where are the other pics I sent you Steve-o? Those are the good ones :)

BTW, that string is an 8 strand BCYX. My very good friends young daughter picked the colors out for me at last springs Classic. I trusted her to pick good colors, she didn't disappoint.

Chris does exceptional work, and I've seen enough of it to bet there are subtle, special qualities going on in that bow that may not show up in pics. And don'tcha just love the color contrast between the sapwood and heartwood in a Yew selfbow? Yew wood IS bow wood personified. Nice proportions of sapwood to heartwood down the length of the limbs, tip shape... just lovely. My favorite horn color for tips on Yew bows too, marbled black and white. 50# and 68"? I bet that thing is as smooth as silk to draw and shoot. Good trade. Congratulations.

Enjoy getting to know her.

Just received my permit to cut a Yew tree here on the Pacific coast. ( It only took four months ). That bow is truly an inspiration. Hopefully I can come close to such a masterpiece.
