Just returned from a two day all traditional archery shoot at the Cascadian Bowman Club. Just outside of Eugene, OR. Sad to say it was a very poor turnout. Seems everyone in this area has gone to the compound bow. Nevertheless my son, Haig, and his lady friend, Marian and I had a great weekend. I really like my Razorback longbow that I made this spring. I just couldn't resist taking a picture of it to share with you all.

If it wasn't more than half way across the US, and if my long time buddy from the area, Ed Blankenship, hadn't passed... I would have been there. :) I go to several primitive shoots in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Missouri... It seems that the trad group is having a resurgence at our shoots...

Fine looker! I like that unique handle shape. My own Sentman is more traditional (except for the carbon)...a FAST bow, very stable.

When I fist married 18 years ago, we joined Cascadian because they have such a great range. The people were very good as well. The Pope & Young Shoot was just the last weekend of July in Brownsville. Hot and breezy. Maybe the warm weather keeping archers closer to home? I shoot a bow you made Gary.68" Elite Classic R/D-53# I try to shoot my Red Wing Hunters or my R/D Great Plainsman but the Sentman bow has just become the best- for many reasons. I think this bow is a sleeper and even though it is not a museum piece and did not cost my mortgage it just is like a broke in pair of boots or the dog laying beside the chair. A young girl protege of my Uncle Eds won the wand. I did not go. Just lost my Golden Retreiver of 12 years -"Whoopie"_and I do not like the heat. Next year though, I hope they have the Poodle Creek shoot again. Is Henry Red Bear and his wife still there? Thank you Gary for the good bow. Jim

Heard the Mammoth Lakes Shoot (last weekend in July) put on by the Eastern Sierra Bowmen had a poor turnout, as well. It needs to be "revitalized", better advertised and promoted. Great shoot in a fabulous area. But, you gotta promote it and CBH has to support it....

Good to see you posting Gary. Gonna ask you to make me an "Old Man's" bow soon!

Facebook is a lousy way to promote anything. It's entertaining for people who use it to keep track of their grandkids but NFG for anything with time value.
