I've been away from this site for over a year but as of last year on October 22nd 2016 I finally got my first tradition archery kill with my striker classic longbow after a long 6 year journey with ups and downs it finally happened I missed over 7 does in those 6 years and this is he first deer with horns I ever shot at with Trad gear and I smoked him only went 60 yards from where I shot him at I was using drt broad heads and goldtip traditionals 500 spine with 100 grain brass inserts shot was 8 yards from a treestand I can't thank everyone on this site enough for the positive vibes I thought about going back to he compounds hundreds of times but this makes it worth while thanks to everyone for the support -Austin

Sweet, many more now go get his brother maybe he's bigger this year after tanking up all year. Many don't do this well 1rst trad buck. Mine was a couple does first then a buck came after those does.

The 1rst buck you usually always remember and hold dear to your heart too no matter how many fall.

A big congrats on your first and a beautiful buck, to boot!! Awesome!! Nothing worthwhile comes easy at first, glad you stuck to it. Nice looking mount too, by the way.

Great deer, great buck, no matter what number it was! That bow sure looks slender. Was it hard to hold still before and after the shot? :>)

From: Trad-freak
Date: 15-Aug-17

Very hard to keep still I have killed my fair share of whitetails with a compound and riffles here in pa but there's something about holding a stick and string in your hand when you have the opportunity to let one fly took everything I had to keep it together before and after the shot all I kept saying in my head the whole time was pick a spot
