I picked-up a 1966 Bear Grizzly, 58" with no string. No problem making a string but I hate to "guess" at the correct length.

Can anyone tell me the exact proper string length? I like the brace height or "fistmele' to be between 7.5" and 8" which is likely a bit shorter than Bear recommended.

Thanks.

Assuming a Dacron string, an endless loop 54" string would have came with that bow. If you want a flemish twist, get a 55" and twist to brace. And 8" is not too low....Fred himself liked a higher brace. Start at 8" and work from there.
