Bernje that black is 1in thick very dense foam,,, its used in hospitals and industry to wrap shillers and water lines. Great stuff. Whittler I would love to keep it but its not mine.It is on loan from. Another Leatherwaller.

The product is called Armaflex insulation.

From: Crow
Date: 12-Aug-17

Yes it is. Ive been a hvacvtech for 36 yrs. Some people call it rubitex which i hate.lol This is really dense more than standard armaflex.I need some more but the hospital i work at for some reason does not want to keep me in stock.lol

Nice! What poundage is it Crow? I didn't see it posted, unless I missed it.

From: fdp

That's a cool deal. I hadn't picked up on it before, but really it isn't a Satori. It's just a Satori riser with aftermarket limbs. Not really different from a WARF or Frankenbow. Not being disparaging, just pointing that out.

From: Crow
Date: 12-Aug-17

Yes your right. I plan on getting satori limbs later, maybe a 21 in riser also.It is 44 lb on this riser and should be 38 on a 25 in riser i think

From: Brian waters

Thats the beauty of ilf. Use whatever limbs on whatever riser you want. As l9ng as its all ilf.

That is some great shooting

Crow, If that " Black Stuff" is what I think it is, it's called armaflex. It's a type of insulation. Never thought of it on a bow target though, I've got access to plenty of different thicknesses might have to try that one.

Crow the new Satori is indeed a shooter. Whisper quiet too. For a decade I was a "pie plate at 20 yards" archer. This was my first five from 25 after reading your post. Sub 3 inch group. I also adopted a refined aiming method in the last year. Old dog, new tricks (and new bow). 21" riser long limbs for 66" bow. My only gripe was the grip, but I've shot it so much for the last bit that it grew on me.

My groupthis morning could have been coved with a55 gallon trash can lid! Never shoot just after weight lifting. Nice shooting.

Flyfish I know what your saying about the grip. The buckskin and 21 in that you have is what I wanted but made a trade. Im thinking to still get that one too.

Crow I bet I'll end up owning a 19 incher also. Maybe some short Uukha limbs for it. I think they'll handle my 29.5" draw. I sold 2 bows to finance this one, and haven't regretted it one bit. I haven't strung another bow in 4 months.

Also Crow don't over tighten the arrow plate, it'll strip. Don't ask how I know. And if you get some Hoyt limbs the string lengths are funky. An AMO (63") string braced my bow at 10.5 inches! Waaaay to high. Braced at 8 it is both quiet and fast. 7.5" was quiet too but with the riser design I way smacking my wrist.

That's a fine group Crow.

Good shooting Crow. I have been thinking about trying one of those and I managed to buy a backswards built one last night. I bought it for the limbs so now I need to find a riser. No hurry as I will be concentrating on using my hunting bow for the next few months. It is good to see that they are quiet. I don't care how well a bow shoots, if it is noisy and can't be made quiet I will get rid of it.

I agree. If it wont quiten down its gone.

Get yourself a set of stick tamers the ones that stick to the limb . You place them just to were the string almost rests agains stick tamers. They really work very good.
