Hi to all on the wall. I have been shooting goldtip traditionals in 340 out of both my Predator and Stalker recurves quite well. The bows are both 55lb and I draw close to 28inch. The arrows are cut to 28 3/4 inch and loaded up front with 250 grains. They bareshaft perfectly for me. I am curious in trying the Goldtip Classic XTs. Has anyone got experience with them? If so, did you like them? I note that they are a heavier shaft compared to the traditionals. My main question is would I stick with a 340 spine shaft in the classic or move to a 400 spine? The traditionals are 10.5 grains per inch in the 340s and the Classic XTs are 11.3 grains per inch in the 400's. Any help would be appreciated.

I shoot them in one of my bows and one of my son's bows. They are great arrows...super durable, like all GT's. I had those bows tuned with standard (black) XT hunters originally, but went to Classic XT's to get the added weight. I really did not change anything, but I was purposefully looking for a heavier arrow. I use standard GT inserts and 145-150 grain points. I did not notice much difference in tune.....at least they shoot well for us. We love the heavier weight.

Big hm suggested to me, to go down in spine. I Went from 500 Traditional to 600 with the classics. No problem, works great. JF

The Traditional Classic is a smaller diameter than the the regular Traditional. So being closer to centershot should like a stiffer spine. You could try a test kit of the shafts first to make sure before buying a dozen. Otherwise, I would keep everything the same. Unless your tuned right on the edge of spine you should be fine.
