Powdered cleanser, like Ajax and such do a fantastic job on cleaning aluminum shafts as well. Platinum or Saunders NPV will do the job.

2nd what BC said. Clean the shafts right and FTL works. I'm sure I don't have to remind you to do not touch the shaft where your going to fletch.

I like Saunders NPV Arrow Mate, but yes...prep the shaft with a good cleanser and rinse...and dry.

The pink super glue stuff that 3 Rivers sells or fletching tape works good on aluminum. My recent experience with Fletch Tite Platnum on aluminum has been horrible. "Back in the day", it was the best. Now after carbon arrows came along and they changed the formula, it is the worst for aluminum. That said, it had worked pretty good for me on GT and CE Carbon shafts. There is a chart in the 3 Rivers catalog that shows their glue recommendation for every shaft type. Check it out!

I have always used regular Fletch Tite but my supply is gone now. I always rub the shaft well with acetone until it squeaks and have never used Ajax or any cleanser. I have never had a feather or vane fall off until I ripped it off. I'm going to get some NPV next time.

Loctite control gel super glue, it's cheap and works great. All I do is wash the shafts with Dawn dish soap and hot water , then fletch away. Never had an issue.

NPV glue is all I use. I like it so much I bought the pint bottle. It cheaper that way than Wally World super glue. I tried SG but when I went to refletch it took to much work to remove the glue. Ended up using Fletch Lac thinner which is pricey these days besides it stinks. Tape is another option as long as your not in the desert.

Contact cement. Works every time and the feathers or vanes don't come off.

Saunders NPV Arrow Mate. And patience....around 20 minutes per fletch to allow a good set, and no potential movements. Just my experience.

I have used Fletchtite Platinum on dozens of arrow with no issue. Also used Saunders NPV.
I clean the shafts with Ajax or Comet and then, just as I put the shaft in the jig I wipe the area of the arrow to be fletched with denatured (not rubbing) alcohol. It should squeak.
I also wipe the quill of the feather with the alcohol once it is in the jig...why not?
I steer clear of acetone as it is toxic when in contact with the skin and inhaled (nasty stuff) and alcohol does an equal or better job with no danger.
