Can someone posts the names of some of the winning shooters?

From: Darkarcher
Date: 23-Jul-17

Top 10 from each class after day 2 (40 targets)

Not sure how the top 10 shook out today. Left right after i shot. Im still 10th in MLB and saw Dewayne on the way out and he was pretty sure he won RU class.

Sorry need to remove the space on that last digit for it to load

If anyone wants my takeaways from this shoot it would be this. Extreme heat. Can you shoot with water streaming off your face, arms, entire body? Watched a guy ring his glove out at one point. Secondly, footing. Lots of the MLB, RU, mens recurve shots you had to stand on incredibly uneven footing. Not so much for the others closer to target. Those who shot well practice standing on sides of very steep terrain. Maybe it didnt bother others but it was a major factor for me.

Shiloh Butts took first in LB, Dave Wallace took second. I left as soon as we got done tallying scores so don't know any other class results.

Congrats to my Hunting Buddy Chris Spikes for a 1st place win. RC

Thanks.

What Darkarcher said. On day one I let my right hand get too sweaty and my tab got hard to control. I was more careful the second day.

I practice on uneven ground most of the time, but I DONT often practice sharp downhill 10 yard shots. I was bummed that I wasn't hitting all 10's/11's on those.

If any one has a better pic of the scores, please post. The bottom the RU was cut off. I'm positive I didn't make the cut but am curious to see what the 9th and 10th were. These scores might be a little lower than last year's

From: Jim Casto Jr
Date: 23-Jul-17

The lowest score to qualify in RU was 331.

Sorry for the heat and as for the footing can't do much about that except put all the targets out in the flat field in a line and don't plan on doing that. TwinOaks is more of a hunting set up as most know, guess we just ant cut out for tournament shooters, again sorry for the inconvenience although I will say this is the only complaint I have has so far. Maybe WV will be cooler and flatter next year. Pappy

Pappy, as you and I both know, there are those that if they found a fifty dollar bill, they'd complain that it wasn't a hundred.

You can't please everyone, but y'all come pretty darn close my friend.

Thanks Terry/Todd we try but some things just is out of our control. Pappy

Pappy, Where in WV will it be held next year?

From: B.Whitman
Date: 27-Jul-17

Pappy thankyou for hosting this shoot as always everything was awesome except maybe the temperature. If people don't like the footing they should maybe shoot indoors again thanks maybe you and the gang can try and make it up to nw pa next memorial day weekend

From: David Mitchell

Lost Arrow, I believe I saw that it will be held at Pipestem State Park here in WV, so if anyone has issues with steep and rocky terrain don't plan on attending. We have had WVBA shoots there-this state would be as big as Texas if you flatten it out. LOL

From: vabowman
Date: 27-Jul-17

Pappy, you don't need to apologize for anything. The heat is what it is... the uneven terrain is what it is. Its a set of woods. not a football field.

WV will be a little cooler but I can promise you it has the potential of being the most uneven terrain youll ever see if those area are used for the ranges.

Pappy, thanks for a great event and thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks, Yes I think they said Pipestem. It is a great event to host and I wish them luck with it,we may do it again someday, time will tell. Until then we will concentrate on the TN. Classic and a little traveling around to other shoot that we haven't had the time to do. Pappy

Great job as always by Twin Oaks and the IBO. Looking forward to the Classic.

??? I don't think those were complaints about uneven ground. Just observations. Don't change a thing! (Unless you CAN change the weather...)

From: M.P.

From where i live ,that was level ground. ?? Great job Pappy and the IBO. A great shoot.

Setup was great, location was better, and people running it were the best!

Thanks again Pappy for sharing your little slice of Traditional Archery Heaven with us all!

They aren't posted yet, but I guess they WILL be here:

Yup, there's a 'grace period' to allow for any disputes to be resolved.

From: kenn1320
Date: 27-Jul-17

Curious, disputes?

From: JustSomeDude
Date: 27-Jul-17

Kenn,

It seems that 'challenges' are mostly made when some one wins (or places high).

From: kenn1320
Date: 27-Jul-17

Wouldn't that have happened onsite? Awards were handed out, seems disputes would happen prior to that. Local ibo events are up by Tuesday at the latest. Just curious, not complaining.

From: Clydebow
Date: 27-Jul-17

Not disputes. A couple scores were mixed up, and they had to recheck a couple score cards.

From: Pappy
Date: 28-Jul-17

I will email Pat at IBO and see what the hold up is,they are usually pretty good about it, I will also check with Michael , he works our web site and see why he don't have them posted on our site. Just been busy catching up after the event and let that slip. Sorry. Pappy

I have only attended one IBO and that was years ago at Twin Oaks. My wife was the one that wanted to try that level of competition but I shot too so as to not be left out and try it. I had a very good time. Shot about how I figured I would since I am not that keen on that level of pressure. Still the shooters, IBO and Twin Oaks folk could not have made you feel more welcome. Being from Northern IL I'm not so crazy about the heat and it was hot but that did not stand in the way of a very satisfactory experience.

I used to be very active at my archery club so I know how hard it is to put on a good shoot. I agree the job Pappy and Twin Oaks does is way above par.

Congrats on another well done event. And thanks again for all the past ones.

Regards, Bill W
