Let me know if anyone finds a way to post the picture and not just a URL. I don't find much in the way of customer assist on the site.

Just load the picture from the file on your computer or phone in the first box that says "embed a Photo" "choose file" I thought Pat said no more HTML for pictures.

In imgur, once you've uploaded an image and selected it, use the copy button next to: "BBCode (message boards & forums)" to embed a picture in your post. I've had zero problems with imgur once I learned it, unlike photobucket.....

I tried Imgur as well. Was not pleased with it, wanted to much personal info for my liking. These are photo storage sites but they all want to be a "Facebook". Could care less what others think of my pictures. Then there is the mobile device issue, those sites are a few years or more behind with their program. They all seem to be mobile device stupid. Besides, in this day in age there is no reason you shouldn't be able to load pics direct to a post, thread, etc. from your computer, IPad, phone etc.

You can't us any of them here due to the HTML transfer format. Pat won't allow that. For others, the IMG transfer format works fine at the other forums. I personally deleted my photobucket account since it's a sponge for virus.

I never succeeded in posting here from photo bucket!
I had trouble using Imgur at first, especially from a phone but now I'm getting it done.
I'm having no problem posting here from an Android phone but it took a while to get it. In my next post I'll do a description of how it's done.

The problem with posting the picture from the phone is the massive size of the file. The solution is to download an app to resize the photos on your phone. The one that I know works Is called "Photo & Picture Resizer". It's on Google Play.
Use the app to select the photo or batch of photos that you want to resize. Select the smallest size available and resize the photo(s). Don't worry about changing the size of the original photo. The resized photos go into a new album labeled as such and the original stays in the camera roll.
Now, when you are ready to post a photo, Hit the "choose file" button to "embed" the photo. Once you touch the button your phone will take you to a page to select the source.
On my phone the choice is "camera" or "documents". Select documents. Then you will get a column of options from which you should select Gallery. From there, use the gallery menu to display Albums. You will now have an album titled "photoresizer". Select a photo by touching it to cause a check mark to appear in the middle of the photo.
Your done!
Just go back to the Wall and hit post and the photo will be in your post.
I just did this already resized picture in 15 seconds

I just decided not to patronize any site that uses third party hosting. I explained to one of them when we discussed it that I swipe my card at the pump instead of walking in to pay for gas. It saves time. Stay competitive or lose customers. That did not set too well with them.
Personally, I had photobucket and drop box but have not used them in probably a year. I have a file system for photos on my hard drive and back it up to an external hard drive just in case of a meltdown.

I make a duplicate of the picture I want to post (File>duplicate) then edit the copy to a max dimension of 600 pixels. Save it to the desktop, in .jpeg form and post it as raghorn says above.

I've had it with Photobucket. Today or tomorrow I'm going to check and if I don't need any of the pictures I have there, I'm deleting my account.
I too mentioned to a different site's administrator about having to go through all that unnecessary crap to post a picture that I already have stored on my phone or computer, but, nothing... so I rarely go there, and post no pics when I do.
