Hi everybody! My name is Bob and I live in Central, NY. I've been into traditional archery since I was a kid back in the 70's, with the exception of a brief stint with a "more modern" bow in the early 90's, just to see what they were all about.

I've enjoyed reading here for a while now and thought it was about time I joined. Thanks for having me and I'm looking forward getting to know everybody.

Bob

I've only been here for a couple hours and it already feels like home. Thanks again.

Don't believe anything you hear coming out of Minnesota or Georgia. Or West Virginia. Be skeptical of posts from Texas, Florida, eastern Pennsylvania, and parts of New York and Michigan.

Welcome again from WV. With at least 30 resident experts to guide you, you will learn how to get 70# compound bow performance from a 47# longbow. Yes, with a 3 strand Fastflite flemish string you can propel a 330 gr shaft with a 300 gr insert and 240 gr broadhead at amazing speed. If properly tuned you won't need any fletching but I like to put 1 inch plastic vanes on mine just to make it look like an arrow. So enjoy the ride. Yes you can believe what comes out of WV.

If there's a question about stickbows that cannot be answered on this site, then the answer doesn't exist. I've been around here for 13 years now and I'm STILL amazed at the breadth of knowledge and experience that people on here have.

I learn something just about every time I come on here.

Lost Arrow, glad you found your way back to civilization--we were worried aboutcha.

Some folks from W-B-G Virginia are probably just fine. There have been a couple, one in particular, however... Well, you probably can say the same about Utahns. Me, I'm a transplant from Coloradee. Never thought I'd be in Ewe-taw this long!

New guy Bob, please disregard what I said about W. VA. Pretty soon you'll figure out a lot of joshing goes on here.

Thanks once again everybody!

Feather Merchant, The fried chicken sounds good, but you had me with the possum and taters. I'm assuming they'd be sweet taters, with maybe a little red pepper in the roasting pan along with the possum? I love collards too, but unless the 'coon is a young one, I'll have to pass on that. Thanks for the invite.

From: Lowcountry
Date: 21-Jul-17

Good story Feather Merchant. I worked with a lady who had a first date with a local country boy. She said he prepared a standing rib roast that was awesome.

The "standing rib roast" turned out to be raccoon. She must have been ok with it because they ended up getting married.

They also ended up getting divorced a couple/three years later after they had a baby. During the divorce she told me with a smile "He's going to have to get rid of his hunting dogs now!" I doubt it had anything to do with the Racoon, but it made me glad I was already happily married for several years. Lol

All of which has nothing to do with the original post, so sorry for the side bar, and once again, Welcome to the Wall!

Lost arrow, I'm dumbfounded by the welcome I've received. I showed this looong page of welcomes to my girlfriend and even she was impressed. When I told her I was dumbfounded by it, she said I was already halfway there to begin with, but that's beside the point. Ya gotta love her.

Thanks A LOT everybody, I really do appreciate it!!

Feather Merchant, Lowcountry, Good stories both, thanks.
