How is Tradtech Titan is compared to the Morrison Phoenix metal riser? Trying to figure out which one should i go for. Thanks.

I've owned them both and wouldn't recommend one over the other. They're both great risers and should serve anyone well.

I'm with Jim. I've had them both and liked them both. Get the one that looks the best to you.

I agree, had several of each and all worked very well.

I shoot the new 19" Titan. But curious about the 21" Morrison because of heavier bottom, double plunger button, radiused shelf, and longer length (21 vs 19). Marco

Jim, Stick, ron:

You've all had/owned them. Does that mean you don't own them now? If so, what are you shooting instead? I dabbled in ILFs a while back and am thinking of sticking my toe in the water again. Am considering the same two risers/bows as Tradfan.

My current hunting riser is a 21" Hoyt Satori. I also have a 19" ILF'd Hoyt Dorado riser.

My Tradtech is the Galaxy which is pretty primitive. I recently got a Gillo Ghost Super Hunter which is LUXURIOUS.

I've never shot a Titan. I had intended to get one to replace my galaxy and found a used Gillo. It is incredibly well built and the Gillo limbs match it perfectly. I am no longer shopping for a hunting riser.

Jimmy is there a bow you don't have? :)

Own a Morrison, like the shaped shelf and dual plunger holes.

As has been mentioned, if you're a shelf shooter the lower plunger hole and radiused shelf on the XD are nice. In general, it has been my experience that metal risers are cut well past center and shooting them off the shelf without a plunger may require thicker furniture leg pad felt(more trial and error) or a custom rest. I haven't owned a TT, so if it has these features someone correct me.

"Jimmy is there a bow you don't have? :)"

There are a lot of bows/riser I don't have, but I've "had" a lot of them. :^)

But I keep working on it. If I live long enough, I will have tried as many a possible. lol lol

Olddogrib, I use a pair of set-screws behind stick-on velcro to adjust side to side on my Morrison. Adjustable but low profile.

Stick the velcro on, screw the first set-screw in. It will bulge the velcro out, the stuff has enough stretch. Start around 1/8 inch and tune. Then screw the second one in to lock the first in place.

Size is 5/16-24 thread, 5/6 long. Could probably go with a 3/8 long backed by a 1/4, but I bought a bag of 'em cheap ;-)

Owned a couple of both. Currently shooting a 17" Morrison Phoenix. My preference is the Morrison for its humped shelf and lower button hole. I think the finish on the Titans is better.

I currently own and shoot both Morrison and TradTech risers. I have a solid phenolic Morrison 17", a Morrison 17" Aluminum (Phoenix) and a 19" Trad Tech Titan III. I think the fit and finish on the Titan III is better than the Morrison Phoenix but the Phenolic Morrison trumps them both in that regard.

I like the smoother radiused edges/corners on the TradTech Titan III very much, but wish there was a cleaner looking way to shoot off the shelf. I use the tan furniture pads like the above were referring to. Works fine, but I don't like the way it looks (a little concerned one might come off on a hunt). The Morrison Phenolic fits my hand best....it was custom made to do that. Of the three, the Titan III seems to shoot better for me.

Try them all. They are all nice, but subtly different. Don't overlook Bob Morrison's custom Phenolic risers. He shapes that stuff just like wood to fit you. They are high in mass and are at least as solid as the aluminum risers. Solid Phenolic is bullet proof too! I would like to try a 19" Morrison Solid Phenolic riser. That might just be THE ONE! Good luck in your quest and God bless!

I had a Titan III. Great riser, just wish it had a raised shelf. TradTechs customer support is great as mentioned....they took mine and drilled and tapped a lower plunger hole for shooting off the shelf.

I have wanted a Morrison 19" XD metal riser for a while but ended getting a 19" Ghillo Ghost. The Ghost is an excellent riser and stays under the radar when metal riser are brought up.

Deadringer

Have your set up your Ghost to shoot off the shelf? Mine has a rest/plunger on it but I am thinking about building it out with wood.

The shelf is radiused (for those who don't know).

Thick furniture pads work for me but I wouldn't be "legal" that way. I might not care about that though.

Yes, Mine is setup for off the shelf. I have plans to drill and tap a lower plunger hole for shooting off the shelf. For now, I took the insert end of an arrow nock, cut it in half and stuck it to the back of adhesive Velcro which serves as my strike plate.

I really like my Morrison. I also enjoy speaking with Bob.

Orion, I had a 17" Morrison and traded it for a 19" T3. Only traded because I wanted to try the longer riser. Both are great risers.
