HI, I'm looking for some thin glue to fill cracks parallel to self bow limb... I've used thin ZAP A GAP for this in the past but it is not available locally. I did find 'Extreme Power' THIN (contains CYANOACRYLATE ESTER) at Hobby Lobby. Do any of you have experience with this glue and or it's MEDIUM and THICK counterparts on self bows?

Also if you have used it, have you used heat to help it flow into cracks and/or to accelerate it?

I have filled hundreds of cracks in selfbows and just use whatever superglue I have on hand, The watery wicking type is not necessary.

I have some extra thin Zap-a-gap but only use it on wood I want to strengthen like a cracked lock molding on one of my flintlock builds.

For bonding I use a good glue like Loctite, for filling cracks I use the cheap dollar store stuff

I like the wicking characteristics of thin viscocity ca glue for reaching the ends and depths of such cracks, and have used several brands all with equal success. I couldn't even tell you which brand I have in the shop right now... but it works great.

There is a thin Ca glue I get at True Value Hardware for repairing loose joints on wooden chairs. I used it with success on our really old dining room chairs. I believe the wood is Maghony. It runs EVERYWHERE!!

I use Loctite 420 it gets to the bottom of cracks, I find it on the big auction site. Great stuff. I do use the super glue from dollar stores also for surface stuff!

I find little if any difference in CA glues, except for price. I would be willing to bet they all come from the same vat just a different label.
