I have had two, a one piece at 60# that I loved to shoot - so fast and flat shooting. Got too damn old for the weight and had to trade it off. Now I have a 3 piece TD @ 53# that I enjoy shooting and it shoots well, but not as fast or hard hitting or as flat shooting as the one piece. The one piece had 4 red elm lams with clear glass front and back with Myrtle wood riser. I would say Pronghorns are in the top 10% of longbows that I have shot. Met Herb Meland at his shop and what a great guy he is, as are most now bowyers. He actually refinished my one piece from a deer spooking gloss to a smooth satin and he did it for free including shipping back to my house. Buy one - you will love it! Newt

A very well made bow and great shooter. All you want in a bow. I had Herb make me one for my African trip, pics of my bow and critters on his website under photo album, hunters around the world. Top 2 pics are 2 of the 4 critters I harvested with the bow.

Herb Meland builds a great bow. He is a very nice and generous person. Mr. Herb has been building bows over 40 years now. I have got two of his three piece takedowns and my son has a 56 inch one piece.

My suggestion would be to call Mr. Herb and talk to him. Also RMSG has several of his bows in stock.

Both is my Pronghorn longbows have red elm limbs. Mr. Herb believes that red elm makes the best longbow limb. One riser is hickory and the other is maple.

I had a pronghorn that I had bought used and had it for several years when an accidental dry fire happened and messed up my limbs. I contacted herb to see about possibly fixing the limbs for me. He told me to send my riser to him and he refinished it and made me some new limbs for a very good deal. He is a great person and you can tell he is not in it for just the money. He really does want to help people to be successful and enjoy the world of archery. His bows are top of the line IMO.

They are very comfortable. I would call them a mild locator.

I have owned several over the years, and they are fine bows. Sorry, no pics.
