I have been using a homemade cresting machine for years. It does ok but speed control on motor is challenging. I have decided it is time to purchase a factory made machine. Leaning toward the Spinrite but would appreciate opinions on this one vs others. I do wood and aluminum arrows.

Thanks

Only have had a Spinrite, so can't compare, but am happy with it after having a home made one. Can't see why you wouldn't be happy with a Spinrite?

Have you tried a light dimmer switch? JF

A light dimmer switch is what I used on my home made one. I also have a Bohning cresting machine.

I had and used that home made cresting machine over 20 years and it still works great.

I've had a couple and the Spinrite is by far the best for me…well worth the cash if you have it.

I have a dimmer switch on mine. Just isn't very precise. My homemade one works ok I just want to try a better machine.

A lot of them will do. Spinrite is the best I've used.

I use my Spinrite 99% of the time. I do have the crester that arrowmaker sells as well. I use it for cresting close to the nock ends on woods mostly. I have the old Bohning Jr. well. It works great for aluminum and carbons, not woods, they wobble no matter how well you think they are straight.

Mine cost about $10 to make. Bathroom fan motor, inline skate wheel and 2 bearings. A commercial chuck is nice if you can still get them. The Skate wheel gears it down to the perfect speed. Flip the switch and go. I use a floating cradle, where ever it is on the shaft, it is spinning perfect.

The SpinRite is a very fine machine, as well.

The back rail is from a bi-fold door
