Does anyone use the 8° offset version(helical)? If so does it put as good of twist on the feathers as the Bitzenburg or Bohning with a helical clamp.

You don't have the adjustability of the Bitzenburger, but it does a good job.

There is such a thing as too much helical.

I threw mine in the trash after the first time I used it years ago when it first came out. I felt it was junk and didn't like it.

Scott: I'm agreeing with Frank. There is certainly such a thing as TOO much helical. Let the clamp make the helical, don't try to offset it. In reality a straight clamp with 1 or 2 degrees of offset is all you need.

I definitely agree with the to much helical part. I have 2 Bitzenburger clamps and 1 Bohning. Both with left Helical clamps. The twist I put on my arrows is what is allowed by the clamp. I was just wondering how a EZ, Fletch compared to them. Seems I spend a lot of time fletching three arrows one feather at a time, although all said, that is only about once every six months.

I have used one for several years with good results. But I get just as good results from my other one with slight offset and it is easier to seat the feathers properly. If you take the time to make sure your arrows are bareshafting well then fletching does not really neat to do much.

I have used both. The Arizona first and it did a good job, But I prefer the Bitz. I think for no other reason then you can replace one feather if it comes off or you messed up. That doesn't work well with the other kind. I don't know what too much helical means or what problems it can cause. All I know it is a simple law of physics that a spinning projectile is more stable then one not spinning.

Too much helical actually decreases the speed that an arrow can travel. PSE and the 'tech truck" proved that back in the '80's.

EVERY arrow spins, even those with straight fletch. They have to because of the resistance of the air on the 2 different types of surfaces on the feather.

They actually work pretty good I can't believe anyone would use it once and throw it away.

It's not 8 degrees helical it's 8degees of offset. And it's the most convenient easy to use jig out there.

I used to love my EZ fletch, used it plenty. Haven't used it in over 15 years and frankly forgot I still had it. I have three of them in the bottom of the toolbox.

I only used the offset, not the helical.

Get the left wing helical version. It has more offset than the RW. They're all I use. I live in AZ just a few miles from where they're made. I actually bought a bitz, tried it and returned it. If you learn to use the AZ ez fletch they're very versatile and easy to use. Plus you can fletch a dozen arrows in under an hour.
