A friend suggested I buy some lighted nocks for my hunting arrows. I found there are several brands and types. how well do they work do yall have photos of them in the field? my main question is how do I know what the inside Diameter my shafts are for the correct fit?

The inside diameter of your shaft should be listed on the manufacturer's web sight.

Doubletake archery: Nockturnal nocks. Pick red, I don't find the greens as bright.

Sorry no photos, never have really thought about taking one. They do help you follow the arrow but more importantly for me, they help you find the arrow for tracking purposes. Not the best feeling to be in the woods at dark 30 wondering to back out or keep going saying "if only I had my arrow".

The packaging will normally tell you what the nock fits. Studies show that the human eye actually sees the lighted blue nock the best, followed by green and lastly red. I myself shoot the green. They are nice to see your hit and also help in finding your arrow. I have used them for at least 6 years and really like them. Shawn

This is a homemade lighted nock. I do have some Nocturnal. I push this one on before my shot. I getting to like red better.

Watched the first one - no adrenaline there!!! ROFL

But MAN ALIVE, that shot was loud! Thought for a second it was a smoke pole that had gone off!!!!

Yeah, dang recurve is loud compared to my longbows. Also since the camera is on the bow it sounds much louder on video.

Friend and I had some fun experimenting with long exposures and lighted nocks. These are red Nokturnals, shot out of my Omega Longbow at about 60 yards to a 122 cm target.

Green Nockturnals. Battery lasts forever, easy to find even coated in blood.

Love Luminocks, but will only use the Firenock from now on. The brightest, longest lasting nock on the market, with good reason. Check out their web page, they have several colors and will tell you the color they recommend for your hunting.

I prefer a red Nockturnal when I'm hog hunting..the package will indicate the size for your arrow

I have a few and yes they do help locate arrows on pass thru shoots that have been lost before. and once even help find a deer with poor bloodtrail the arrow was found about 50 yards from the place it was shoot as it fell out are nocked out by brush and the deer was a another 25 yards away we spoted the glowing nock. they have there place.

I've found several pigs at night because of lighted nocks. On pigs, I kinda like my arrow to stay in them with the nock glowing. Reflector tape on my arrow has helped too with or without the light.

I bought a pack on clearance for $5. They work GREAT for checking muzzleloader bores. Never used one on an arrow.
