So I got me this new widow. Psax 46@28. I draw 29 to 29.5. I have 2117, 31inches, three 5in feathers. 145 points. They shoot good. I've been doing some looking and I'm finding people shooting 55lbs with 29in 2117 and up to 200grain points. Looking in the widow paperwork they recommend a 2117 or 2216 which is even stiffer. I've bareshafter and shot Fletched.they group together and for the most part fly well. I think any problems I have is my release. Do they sound way too stiff.

They are fine, 2 lbs on the soft side from what I can figure out.

About right I'd think

People will say it's too stiff, but if it flys well and shoots the same place as your fletched arrows with field pts and BHs it doesn't really matter what others think. I would have said stiff if I didn't have a 50# bow that shoots 2117s extremely well.

I think your bow is cut past center so that doesn't seem too stiff to me.

It's the center shot capability that allows for stiffer shafts on the Widow.

Widow bows are time tested and carefully improved for 60 years, they are different in many ways. I have had people walking on one of my widow bows, no problem just pick it up, check that everything was OK and hammer in another inner hit:)

Just got done shooting it again at dusk. Had some serious cross wind and they still shot great. Just had a thought that freaked me out. Not sure how they could be that far off and still shoot good. 2117 it is. I'd bet I'm close to 50lbs at my draw

If it shoots well then you're good to go. A 2117 is one tough arrow.
