I've come into a nice set of Fiberglass arrows and need help identifying them. They have no markings on them (whether removed or never had any). They have a similar weave pattern to some DuraFlex shafts I have, but are not like some Herters I shoot. They are a rich reddish brown color. I'd like to know brand and spine.

Maybe Larry Hatfield will have a clue. I recall reading Glenn St.Charles article of a hunt in 1952 where they were using his Thunderbird bows and 'brown fiberglass arrows'. The weave looks like Microflite but I'm sure there were several manufacturers with that style.

Those are micro-flight's I believe they were called hunters. The spine was just silk screened on them, so if that's missing you need to put them on a spine tester. Photo's can be deceiving but it looks like there not all the same diameter!

They are Microflites. They just have darkened with age.

I should have added to my last post:

Microflite made two shafts The yellow and brown color. spine is designated by a number 1-12. If you can find a number on them I can give you the spine.

Definitely look different. I never knew that MF had any color than that "yellowish". Hope that they will shoot well.

I'm with Phil, aged microflites, I've had several.

I shot the yellow micro-flite arrows all through the '60s. Age did not change them brown. I recall my father also buying some new brown micro-flites as well. I don't recall for sure, but I thought that they were not only brown but also private-labeled for a particular archery related company.

Yessir. I have some yellow ones from the 60's and they are still yellow.

They are MJ Log's. I used a bunch of them 30+ yrs. ago for hunting & stump shootin'. Good shafts.

Micro flights can change color to a darker hue if left in sun or a hot attic,......like the ones I have. Mine are actually darker on top where they were exposed out of the box(square box with a bunch of holes to insert the shafts) and the part that was inside the box was yellow.

Those in the first picture could be Fleetwood which had a dark brown glass. Theirs will have a faint line from the front, angling around the shaft to a point about in the middle then angling back the opposite direction to the nock end. These were made by wrapping the flat sheet of glass around a steel(?) rod/mandrel.

MJ L.O.G shafts were tan or orange.

I have some brown ones that show a lighter shade where the gripper from the quiver held them for years. Can't post a pic right now.

Yes, microflites. I bought yellow and brown microflites from Doug Kittridge Bow Hut in CA back in early 70's. I still have 9 or 10 of the #10 brown ones.

I had a couple dozen Micro Flite 12's looked just like that, sent them off to Steve Turay of Northern Mist as they were plenty stiff :)
