I have a Martin Jaguar drilled and tapped for sights and a rest. I put a standard 3 pin sight on it, my arrows are still hitting to the left with my sight adjusted as far left as it will go. I am still using my same instinctive anchor point with my middle finger anchored to my canine tooth(corner of my mouth). Is it normal to have to move the sight mount to the inside of the riser? I don't want to change style that much I am comfortable with my shooting as it is. My sight is also having to be adjusted way low I think. I am using a centerest 2 w/flipper.Not trying to start a right/wrong discussion on whether sights and a rest are trade enough or not please, I have enough off the shelf recurves that I shoot instinctive? so let's skip that debate.

Scott -
Most likely answer is your anchor. A far side of face anchor puts the string outboard of your aiming eye, requiring the sight pin to be pretty far out.
Ditto on the low sight pins, the tail of the arrow is too close to your eye. It's the initial reason all Olympic shooters anchor under the chin.
You can compensate somewhat by moving the center shot closer to center, or chaning your anchor. If the sight is just a training tool, you may have to just deal with it.
Unless your arrow are really stiff and/or heavy going to weaker or lighter arrows won't help enough.
Viper out.

If your arrow spine is correct, then your sight pins should be in line with the axis of your arrow. Sounds to me like your way over spined if you shoot right handed.

I should have gave some info on my setup, 50lb @ 28"(my draw is 27"), 30" 2018 w/200gr upfront. I have some 2117's, 400 and 500 spine carbons I am going to work with also. The 2018's fly good but I am willing to work with spine and see what happens.

Maybe you could draw at a mirror to check to see how far your eye line is from the bow string. You do not need to be looking down the arrow shaft or through a string peep, but if your eye to the target with a vertical bow is off to the side, your bow site will need to match that. Many instinctive shooters find it most comfortable to allow the bow's cant to match the natural cant of the head. Most people when they turn their head to the side to look at something, cant their head a little naturally. If you are jamming your neck to a more vertical posture it could explain the off set.

If your rest isn't in tight against the bow, you may want to try that first since the Jaguar is cut past center. Move the arrow in first.

George "may" be on to something. A good place to start is make sure the tip of your arrow should be slightly outboard from the center-line of the bow at brace.

I shot sights years ago on a recurve and compound. I never had the arrow in my sight picture. But I anchored lower than you said. Your arrows are pretty heavy could explain why you have pins so low. I recall trying to shoot 2419's from my 70# bow. My pins were so low the vanes touched them.

Start over. First, do as George suggested and move the rest inboard to the sight window. Then, align your string and arrow are aligned as Jim indicates (I actually start with mine centershot, but that's a different topic), then, set your pin to the center of your arrow shaft.
You are shooting nearly 600grs. of arrow weight (shaft, point, insert, etc..) from a bow that is about 47.5lbs. at your draw length. Your pins are going to low. Do you have the sight bracket adjusted up as high as it will go?

Assuming you had tuned your set up to get good flight before adding the sight.....listen to Viper.
If you didn't have good arrow flight before then this is not a sight problem it's a tune problem. So tune the set up...and then listen to Viper.

Assuming you are NOT trying to shoot sights with the bow canted Vipers right. Bring your anchor in till you can see the string blur on your sight pins. Remember your heads your rear sight unless you put a peep sight on it. If you run into problems with distance you'll have to lower your anchor to index finger corner of mouth.

Try ignoring the sight and try to just sight off the arrow. Just aim the arrow at the ground in line with your target and adjust your anchor/alignment until that is straight.
If your arrow is pointing left, Your windage will only EVER be correct at each specific distance.

Ya, what GLF said, " where is your string blur?????" If not in your vision, then too far to the side so the sight has to move left for a right hander.

Man there always some great advice, took some of what everyone said. (1) Went back to the drawing board with tuning, 2117's w/200 grains upfront bareshafted and paper tuned this afternoon. (2) I quit overthinking it and took the sight off. I think I have been shooting instinctive so long a sight is just out unless it's on a compound. (3) With arrows corrected and the sights off, I can keep them on a paper plate at 30 yrds. We have to qualify with a bow to hunt Ft. Stewart Ga. I have hunted and taken game with both Longbow and Recurve. But I guess I am over thinking this qualifying? bit.
